New PIAA H4 L.E.D headlights bulbs....

LEDs don't make enough heat to keep the snow and ice off of the lens.
 
Awesome, thanks all, much appreciated! I recently installed OEM fog lamps and believe that they should help out a lot.

The driver’s side bracket needs to be replaced but here they are with the PIAA LEDs. Can’t wait for more snow to test them out.

Cool, yea, I've had foglights on every vehicle and can't live without them personally. We got lucky with the LED's in these headlights, that they work well and don't give unsightly glare like you can see on some vehicles. Piaa did it right.

I am interested in these since I would like more light, but don't want to do a retrofit if I don't have to.

The problem that I have is that the promo images that OP is using are clearly mislabeled. The after photo which is supposed to showcase the lights he is selling is really the Sylvania Ultra high beam photo from THatfield.

I don't like that the product is being misrepresented, even if it is great.
 
PIAA H3 solar yellow 100w bulbs just showed up. I will try to get better pictures tonight after class.

I'm not sure what you mean. That was sent to me from my customer, and the point is, the bulb he had in his 4Runner (before he switched to these exact Piaa led's) was an aftermarket halogen bulb, much brighter than the stock bulb, and the difference in the before and after is still HUGE. If it was of the stock toyota bulb, the difference would even be greater. It wasn't meant to deceive. If the pic he sent me was of the stock bulb, the difference probably wouldn't be believable. :) It's a huge difference.

Whether or not it was meant to deceive, the photos being used are inaccurate representations of what was shared.

When you look at post 13 on the first page of this thread, the the first two photos are the ones being used in your marketing. Both of those photos are of the Sylvania lights. The last two are of the PIAA lights and are obviously in different conditions, with plenty of what looks like snow on the ground.

Doesn't look good that your first two posts on here are attacking one of our vendors and contributors to this forum. Of course he's going to post photos that show the LED's are brighter, if there was no photos then it'd be suspect, since there'd be no comparison.

I almost bought a pair of these myself, decided to change to the 99+ housings first though.

Yeah what is the point of your post? I believe the point of the pictures in the first place was to compare the two bulbs. The weather conditions only show that they are very effective.

He's (she's, they've) got a point. It has been mentioned before with no real response. Look at the comparison picture on the first page and specifically the background of the Sylvania/PIAA shot. The street lights are much brighter in the PIAA shot than they are in the Sylvania shot. Means it was shot with more ambient light getting in. Which will give a false result. That is deceptive.

I'm not bagging on the PIAA's. Never seen them in person, so I can't comment on their brightness. I mean, a straight swap LED that lasts a long time makes good sense to me even if the brightness is about equal. The only negative I hear is on the heat output of LED's in areas that get a bit colder.

Honestly the only thing that looks different is the fact that there is snow on the road. If that's going to be your determining factor on whether you're going to go with Sylvania rather than PIAA then there's more than just a snow on the road issue here. It doesn't effect me at all, I have retrofits that are brighter than both bulbs. I have PIAA fog bulbs that are amazingly bright and PIAA is located in my city, so I will support my local company.

You are reading far too much into this. I never said that it was something that would make be choose Sylvania over PIAA. Or that I have an issue with the PIAA bulbs (In fact, I even mentioned as much in my post) or PIAA as a company. I have two sets of PIAA lights and love both of them. My particular issue here is with a PIAA vendor using a misleading photo. That's it. That if you're going to use a comparison photo to help selling something, use a fair comparison photo.

It's like me saying I am taller than 6ft and post a photo of me standing next to a measurement chart, but I'm standing on a box. Now, it could be that in reality I am taller than 6ft or I'm shorter or I'm 6ft on the dot. Regardless of that, the fact that I am standing on a box in the photo gives a false representation of what is reality.

Can you really not see how the light is pumped up in the PIAA example?
