New Rotors & Pads for a 02 Sport

My 2002 Sport is in need of some new front rotors & pads. I want to steer away from Stock Replacements I'm looking for aftermarket parts.

Does anyone have recommendations on a rotor that can handle lots of mountain driving? i.e. doesn't warp from thermal oscillations?

Maybe try the cryo treated rotors? Tirerack have them in stock. Supposed to last 2 or 3 times longer than normal rotors.

What about using the Tundra brakes? I don't know a lot about the upgrade other than many 3rd gen guys have done it and like it. If I had a 3rd gen I'd do it, use OE pads and Napa Premium Rotors.

The cryo treated rotors would be better yet That's my 2cents.

The Tundra modification should help, but not for the reason implied.

The first step in solving a problem is understanding that problem.

Apparently, from research, the Tundra modification does NOT prevent warpage, mainly because rotors (almost) never warp. Don't believe me. Just read the references listed here.

The Tundra modification apparently provides better thermal dissipation, so, while it was shown in one thread that does not increase initial stopping power (due to plumbing constraints), it should increase fade resistance.

And increased fade resistance is a "good thing"(TM) for mountain driving.


PS: Most likely what is causing the pedal pulsations is uneven deposits of the following ...
