New savage Offroad rear bumper

yeah the vague part about bolt on options is the only reason I'm holding off as well. I'd like to know for certain that a high-lift jack will be able to be mounted without any modification.

Website says: Swingout option comes with adjustable angle tire carrier. Swingout fits up to 35" tire. Swingout is fully reversible and can be mounted on either driver or passenger side. NOTE: Additional bolt on accessory options will be offered in 2016 (fuel, high lift, etc.) For customers with the pre-2016 bumper, we will be offering an adapter soon which will allow this swingout to bolt to your bumper - stay tuned.

Yeah, I'm wondering what the other pieces are they are planning on. And how easy it is to bolt on the swingout at a different time if I only want to order the bumper now to make it less of a blow all at once.

Also, if he can put a ladder on that bumper somehow, either mounted up the side like I've seen a few 5th Gens or a ladder mounted on the swingout I'd be a very happy camper.

and I think you will be able to buy bumper one day and swing out one day....although they are on sale until Jan 8 it looks like

Is that the purpose of "hybrid"? Allows to bolts on a swongout ?

Customer with pre 2016, he's referring to his old rear bumper. That he will. Make an adaptor for that bumper and it will be up to to mount jt and make his swingout work with the old bumper.

A few reasons for the hybrid of tube and plate. First is time. By Roy having a lot of the parts cut by his laser cutter it saves him time cutting and bending tube and welding time as well. Time is money. This is a business after all and not his hobby.

Second, Roy wanted to match the style of his hybrid front bumper and was hoping that weight wise this bumper might come in a bit lighter than his previous rear bumper but still be just as strong.

Not digging the corner transition at all. Maybe painted it will cover that up a lot. Love the price point with the carrier. If I had the cash I would do it also.

Ordered Savage rear up with the swing out. Been waiting forever, almost pulled the trigger on a 4x4innovations rear around turkey day. But I like the "lighter" look of this a bit more than the 4x4inno one. Should totally be under my tree by tomorrow morning, right? :vader:

Very nice improvement over the first version! :banana: Unfortunately, it has gotten too rich for me. When I NEED a rear bumper, this will be at the top of my list, but for now, I just WANT one.

I was hoping the price would be closer to the the original tube version. I guess I should've bought that version before it was discontinued! The price is reasonable compared to the competition, but like I said, I don't NEED one.

Anyhow, huge kudos to Roy for being responsive to forum (potential customer) input! And I'm still rocking the best skid plates available for our rigs!

Looks awesome! I'm really impressed with how Roy took the feedback from the first iteration and made the bumper into what it is now. The only thing that isn't to my taste would be the holes cut into the plating, but Im sure you could easily request the bumper with solid plate instead.

The holes are there for adjustability for different size tires and mounting a hi-lift and or a license plate. When he gets done with the aftermarket add on options you will also see why the holes are there.

I get the feeling that he was talking about the larger holes on the side plates and you're talking about the holes on the swing out arm.

Roy has those there to save weight and was not planning on offering it without the holes at this time
