New savage Offroad rear bumper

Roy has those there to save weight and was not planning on offering it without the holes at this time

here's where my concern is on the holes...

if a dog (if the dog has small enough paws, which we do rescue from shelters e-list) steps wrong, the paw can go right through the hole. possibly a break can happen.

the side ones I'd keep it's the long plate out the back hatch I'm concerned about. IF Roy can add a mesh or something (simple) to make the holes too small for any dog paw to fit through it would be best for me. otherwise I'll have to get it modified when it gets here...

That's too bad. It really detracts from the look of this bumper. It also would seem to be more work to put those hole in.

Any pictures of bumper off the truck? I'd like to get a better idea of what kind of bracing is behind the corner plates. Also intersted in seeing how the two long tubes are connected/braced between the frame rails.

Order placed! Bumper & swing arm. Hopefully the future bolt-ons truly are bolt-ons, and all base bumpers are the same when shipped. I'd like to add some stuff down the road.

talked to Roy... he's busy!

most of the items are laser cut, which reduces cost and build time...
the bumper will have pilot holes for future add on's (swing out)... just drill the holes when adding.
he's able to work with me on making the rear plate ledge holes smaller, they are a 2inch diameter... he's thinking a mesh type underneath
other swing-out accessories will become available, example like roof ladder...
the stock spare tire fits normal...
the new trailer hitch is not "classed", it's just costs too much(100k) and expires in 5 yrs. for my needs max 1500lbs expedition trailer should be fine...
the stock hitch should bolt up right under it if you're towing max weight... but you might have to drill some of the bolt holes for the stock hitch.
the recovery points should take a beating.

for the price point it's a heck of a deal...

Does anyone know if this will fit a 2001 limited with flairs. I have been try to get ahold of savage to get this answered but apparently they are swamped because of the sale.

from what i understand, it fits the same with or without. I'm putting it on my 99 ltd... keeping my flares.

I have limited flares on my rig and he is going to test fit it to my rig to see if we need to make any mods to the bumper.

That's what he told me when I ordered and I told him if you fell through for any reason I would drive mine down there.

Really looking forward to getting it and the sliders.

Can you post pictures when you test fit it please. I have the same runner as you and already ordered the rear bumper and I'm curious what it will look like.

I finally got an order confirmation a month after I placed my order.

I'm really eager to see the dual swing-out option, hopefully it's easily retrofitted onto the bumpers he's building now.

I remember talking to him soon after my order, he had close/over 50 orders... so yeah he's swamped.

I'm told the pilot holes will make future implementation amazing for swing out additions.

Just got back from 3 weeks of work and the Savage Offroad rear bumper I order last fall has arrived. Unwrapped it and promptly dropped it off at the local powder coating shop. Should be ready for pick up by the end of the week. Can't wait to get it on my runner.
