New Shoes-Finally got rid of the Dunlops

After 35k miles and some fast talking i was finally able to get my wife to approve the purchase of some new tires. I just moved to Austin and money is tight so i didnt get the tires i wanted but i am happy with the tires i bought. I went with the Yokohama Geolander HT/S. I dont go off roading but i wanted a quiet ride and decent weather performance so i'm happy with my purchase. I did go with beefier size and got the 265/70/17 which looks and feels awesome. There is nothing nicer than a new set of shoes to make your truck feel new again.

No, these are 51's. I got them at Discount tire for a little over $130 each. It was a break-even deal with the TireRack since they charge $80 for delivery, plus i had my tires on in under an hour! They felt fine until today when i went over some RR-tracks i heard an nasty sound in the back, i thought maybe the tires topped out on the fender but i cant be sure. I guess i will just have to take it easy going over tracks and speed bumps.

I ran those on my Avalanche. Since you want a quiet tire and decent weather performance, you should be OK.

However, they outright sucked in the winter and were worse than terrible in any mud... not that I expected them to be good in the mud, of course.

But Spring/Summer/Fall, they were great... but considering you are in Texas you should be fine year round!
