His shop turned from tuning to fabrication he designed a turbo kit for Hyundai’s and Jeeps
Aliso ax2021 is a Toyota 4Runner enthusiast and I meet him recently a 4Runner guy in nyc is rare

Props to raising awareness, but save your money. Spend it on suspension, this isn't a sports car.

You’re absolutely right. This is not a sports car and never will be. But I believe that with right shop,right mods, right tuning 4.0L can do better than this. It took me a year to do my research before I trough a supercharger under the hood . BTW the suspension was my first mod. Swap it for nice King setup, so that part is done. Appreciate your comment. No misleading. That 4Runner on Video is my car. They installed coils for me to see how it perform on dyno before and after. The reason I brought it up for you guys, was hoping to hear some real life experience with performance coils. Maybe with the other vehicle’s or other vendors, and for those who might be interested to get some more power for their 4Runners before they trade in for Raptors.But what I see is only guessing or personal opinion, no real life experience. Anyway, glad to see some of you guys have a really good knowledge of Toyota engine’s, cheers everybody!!!

Please do a full review. Curious to see how they hold up with real world driving and having them go through thousands of miles. Last thing you need is a 4Runner that won’t run while on the way to the hospital for a medical emergency.

More power can be useful in 4Runners. I tow a boat and looking at the small campers and I know I'd LOVE more power. These guys look to be legit and I'm looking forward to having more options for our 4Runners.

Seriously, no one bought a 4Runner thinking it was a sports car, but any time some power adder comes out people whine and complain about it, it's tiresome

After going 33s Id like some additional power to bring the pep back. If these coils and an intake can give ~20hp/tq im all for it! Looking forward to more reviews, maybe even 3rd party dyno testing. I'm available for unbiased testing.

Dyno chart looks like it was either fabricated or manipulated. Getting an extra 10 or 15% at low rpm doesn't pass the smell test.

If it proves to be a extremely reliable product with 10 to 15% gains, thats like 27 to 40HP, then I would highly considering getting them.

EDIT: watched the video again and its 10 to 15% more then the OEM coil packs. For some reason I was thinking of 10 to 15% of 270HP that the 4Runner is rated at.

Anything is possible. He wants to do more passes on dyno again since I installed TRD CAI couple days ago, just to see what gains are. I will be there whole time, any BS is going on, You’re will know first guys. Thanks

Honestly, the whole proposition was misleading at best. "Hey has anyone tried these?" Later on it comes out that oh by the way it was my car on the dyno and I'm personally involved. Why not just come right out and say hey check this out, had this put on my car etc etc. I agree with the others - this doesn't pass the smell test from a reliable dyno testing standpoint and leaves out a large amount of important variables to compare apples to apples. For all we know, this could be comparing apples to space shuttles.

The man stated HE iS THE FIRST
But if finds that it does work in all situations then we have a product to bring us back the hp we lose with weight or tires

Realistically it's 270 HP motor, and should be a bit more snappy than it is, but I'm sure Toyota is in the hot seat for the mileage and they are de-tuning it. Not to mention it will run long after we are all dead.

However, it doesn't matter much, it's a truck. Get a sports car if you want go fast. Just for for the New Yorkers. "Hey, no offense to Ripp, but I'm just sayin."

By some standards it is a sports car. Pretty much dead heat with this 5.0L Camaro with a manual gear box.

Hi guys! Just want to get back here with reviews and my real world experience with Ripp high performance ignition coils. MPG: it depends how you will drive. One day I drove it like I stole it, didn’t get any better, next day drove like a normal person I got 6 MPG more. HP gain: Honestly couldn’t feel much with bud dyno, other than throttle response got better off the line, engine sounds quieter. Well then I installed TRD CAI as additional, now I can feel it with a bud dyno there’s more HP. Overall with 33” tires, 2.5” lift, 93 octane, my 4Runner feels like a stock, with better MPG .

I got to tell you, I never had this # on my cluster. Before I installed those coils I had 14.2 - 15.2 with the same driving habits. And also there is another set of coils ready to ship out to anyone who willing to install it on his/her 5th gen 4Runner, just to have a second opinion from different people ( No charge ). You can email or call to Ripp supercharger directly with your information. Thanks .

Did you buy a 4Runner because it was fast or because it was reliable?

Because this won’t make it either. Not saying they don’t make quality stuff but you will be looking at snake oil level power gains if any at the potential trade off of reliability.

I’ll say this to anyone trying to add power to a 4Runner... why didn’t you buy a raptor?

Yeah Ray, I can let him know, but You can call him too . Just tell him you are from this forum. That would be interesting to see how those coils will do on your Boosted 4Runner. I am going same route, placed order on Magnuson yesterday, should be here in 2-3 weeks
