New tires for 4Runner

I know people have their preferences on tires, but I'm considering purchasing Uniroyal Cross Country Laredo 265/65/17 tires for $184/tire installed. Anyone had these tires before, and if so how did they do in terms of wear and noise, etc.?

Any thoughts are appreciated....thanks.

I can't comment on those specific tires. What in particular is leading you towards those? For what it is worth ... I've had two sets of Goodyear Fortera TripleTred tires:

Had them on my previous truck and put them on my current 4Runner about 40,000 miles/2.5 years ago. They don't even look 25% worn ... plenty of life left. More importantly they perform wonderfully in all weather. Fantastic in rain (I live in FL), only been in snow/ice once ... but seemed very good there too. I don't do any off-road. They are Uni-directional ... in case it isn't obvious ... if that would be a concern to you.

A little more in price than the Uniroyals you are looking at ... but have an 80 mail in rebate.
