New tires time

Alright ladies and Gentlemen time for new tires I'm not very happy with the BFG Rugged Terrain that I have on there so please feel free to tell me the best decision I do drive on the highway a good bit but I also do go off road a good amount too no mudding I'm not into all that but hunting and some trail riding
its come down to

Toyo AT 2 Xtreme
Toyo MT
Nitto Trail Grapplers
Goodyear Duratrac

Couldn't vote for any tire as for what you listed as your driving ( highway a bit ). All I can not vote on would be the MT's as all your going to do is wear them out faster. The rest all look like they would serve your purpose.

The trail grap is pretty aggressive, so is toyo MT

leaves you with toyo v duratrac - i went this route too and im very happy i got the DT. The toyos are nice and all, but the duratrac looks much more aggressive and I wanted that without jumping to an MT. The toyo will last longer and be quieter. The DT will look sexier and be a little noiser but likely outperform the toyo offroad, but not much a huge margin for your purposes. I also went DT becasue they came C rated and toyo AT in the Xtreme starts in 285 sizes and the LT version below it (in terms of aggressiveness) only came E rated.

What size do you plan on running?

ehh im not sure yet if i wanna upgrade to some rims or keep stock rims and black them out but thats besides the point probably gonna run them a little bit bigger since stock is 265/65/17 possibly 260/75/17 or 265/75/17

I'm with Zop! As with you I was torn between the At 2 and Duras. Long story short I got a heck of a deal on dura's! So happy with them, glad it all worked out! I too do a lot of highway and honestly not much offroad. Dura's are great on road and highway. I never believed how people said they were as good as they are. Firm believer now!

Toyo AT2's look good to me. My Duratrac's with around 20-25k have started to make an insane amount of road noise. Still have good tread life though. Each wheel requires 1.5 lbs of weights to balance. If I remember right, one has 3 lbs. I seem to be the only one with problems with this tire though, so don't let this stop you from purchasing.

Mine took a lot of weight to balance too, around 17 oz being the most IIRC. A few others have reported worsening road noise after wearing a while.
