New to 4Runners...Toyotas too for that matter

Hey, I just bought a 90 4Runner, so far i'm enjoying it quite a bit, I'm new to these trucks, in fact i'm new to Toyotas period. Spent the last couple years working on Turbo Dodges. So any pointers, tips, what not that you guys can give me would be great.

I do have one problem...already...the rear window intermitently works, more often it dosen't work, and from what i can see it is not possible to get into the back of the truck with the window rolled up, am I right?

edit: also, what are the specs on the 3.0L v6?

Not sure of a cure for your rear window, but it's a coomon problem for our year 4runner. And no you can't get the tailgate down with the window up as your window goes up it locks the tailgate. it's the lock on your left you lift up on before you release the tailgate.

there are rear window regulators for our years on E-bay all the time. if you need to replace it.

As far as your specs I agree with Good times check out the other sites, Maybe some other guys will chime in with the specs.

try the search on the 3.0L. How many miles on your rig?. have the head gaskets been replaced already under the recall?. the most common problem with the 3.0.

it's a high milage truck...294k, but i have a couple mechanic friends and was informed that these engines are good up to 400k

the headgaskets have been done under recal.

truck only had one owner, garage kept, no accidents, even has the little CAA Plus sticker on the back.

i figuered out the eindow issue, it's not the window but the rear wiper, it wasn't going up far enough.

The 3.0L is slow but most would agree is a good engine.
