Yeah that's good guide, used it when I did mine too. Mine also has the plastic shroud, I would not say it's optional since it protects the fuel lines and filter from corrosion.

New fuel lines showed up today. Should I put anything on the threads or around the connectors to protect them from corrosion?

I have the new fuel filter and lines installed. The 4Runner has a lot more power now and actually downshifts when you floor it.
Next project is to drain and refill the transmission and change the oil.

Install a B&M cooler while you are at it with the tranny service.

That is the plan. I was going to replace the entire radiator, but I think I will just install the cooler.
I did the oil change today. Who has moved the oil filter and what kit did you use?

Took a road trip to check the gas mileage and ended up with an average of around 19 MPG.

Well that sucks. I've been through that myself, if they end up totaling it I would buy it back and just replace the bumper with aftermarket or a used one. This all depends on if the frame is bent or not. Doesn't look like the damage is too much and should be pretty easy to fix.

They are already talking about totaling it. I will try to buy it and throw a aftermarket bumper on here.

Bummer... at least it happened before you had done anything massive to it. My sister hit a deer once, but at least it was in her awful Oldsmobile that needed to go anyway.
I don't think that will have frame damage. You'll probably be looking at a new hood, headlights, bumper, A/C condenser and grill (satoshi mod time?) but shouldn't be terrible.

That's a total?? Mine was recently totaled but I had frame damage. If they do total take the check and fix that thing. If I were closer I'd sell you the parts of mine, which has a perfect front end and is the same year and Millennium Silver.
Exactly, I guess in these cases where its minor damage I consider it to be not so bad. Yeah my car is totaled but its fixable. Also the insurance company is going to pay me for it and im just going to buy it back and drive it like I did before. Resale value is shot but who cares I wouldnt plan on selling mine anyways if this was my 4runner. Lol insurance company is paying you for mods!

The estimate to fix it came in at 3k. That is before they could open the hood and see what else was damaged. They said it is 48% damaged. Once it hits 64% is it a total.
The thing is even have trouble starting now. I am not sure what got damaged to cause that.

They have now called it a total loss. I will get a little over $1500.00. Not a bad investment, but I think they low balled me on the replacement cost of other 4Runners in my area. Now to get another one or just drive my Taco.
Was it paid for? or is that after paying off all the loan etc? because in the south here you couldn't even think of getting a 4runner for that price. If they said that to me I'd raise all kinds of hell.
