New to me 4runner

It has been my wife's dd for about 4 years, just before Christmas she wrecked it and the insurance company totaled it.

We bought it back and found a good deal on a 4th gen for her.
I finally sold my cherokee to fund the 3rd gen rebuild.

I thought the taco front end swap looked awesome and this gave me the perfect excuse to do it. So I ordered some 02 taco parts and stated pulling the mangled front end off.

Today my first shipment of body parts came in: radiator support, corner lights, and hood hinges.

I love this look. I checked into doing it to my Runner...if I used Toyota parts, was looking at $800-1000. Lots of little parts here and there. Since I just did a Satoshi grill mod and installed a sport hood...didn't think its worth the money right now.

However, I've still been looking for a deer to run out in front of me all season! Damn it...no luck yet!

Please keep us posted. Love to watch your build!

Last night I got the radiator support mostly in, I need to get some rivets.

And best pics for last, just to see what I'm working towards. Just sat the the fenders and grille on for the pic.

Sadly I have to work tomorrow, hopefully more progress tomorrow night and Sun.

Well it was a long day yesterday! Finally got to starting work on the runner around 8:30 last night, and next thing I knew it was 12:30 and the runner looked like this!

I pulled it outside this morning to see it in natural light.

I couldn't wait, bolted everything up. Removing it tomorrow to paint.

Short term goal was to get it fixed to be my dd. Long term, I would like at most a 3" lift, bigger tires (no set on what size yet), and be a capable camping rig for when my 18 month old can start camping. Btw, I found a small crack in the top plastic cap of the radiator.

Hey Buddy...it's looking great. Makes me jealous!! Keep the pictures and up-dates coming!

Hopefully you don't find anymore broke parts...good luck!

Well got a new radiator in and got a few coats of paint on the bumper.
Few pics the night I finished painting.
