Looking good man! I finally got flares on my swap. Getting a lot of compliments. Funny how we both started it at about the same time haha greeting from California ☀

I haven't done much work to the runner lately, been biking a lot!! I have had a tick from around cylinder 5 since the wreck. Thought I was coming from the valves but haven't had time to pull the valve covers. So last week on the way home from work, I hit a bump in the road and the tick got louder. Then about a mile down the road BBBBOOOOMMMM!!!!!!!!! So I limped it home about 2 miles and found this

My guess is the plug got knocked loose in the wreck, not sure how that is possible. So I got all new plugs and 1 coil. I could only get the new plug to go in about 3 threads. Next I ran a tap down the hole and tried a plug again. The plug almost got tight and pulled the remaining threads out. Luckily a guy a work gave me a helicoil kit just in case I needed it, ends up I did. Next I used the helicoil tap and tried to install a helicoil. It only went in half way then stopped and they are made not to back out. About 15 min later my buddy was able to get it out. My second attempt (with a new helicoil) worked and I got the new plug tighter up. Installed the new coil and started right up. Then I replaced the rest of the plug (no other plugs were loose) and the runner lives on with no more ticking. 275000 and counting

Awesome, I know this is old. I'm teaching myself to post, so here is my project. Thanks for sharing, gives hope that diy can do most anything. Po made the bumpers, because of a wreck. He understated amount of damage, and I desire a high degree of perfect(side lights are out, pass headlight housing is broke, obvious radiator support damage, grill not fully attached, front 2 body mounts are bent). So I'm going to get it closer to perfect. Any advice on radiator support alignment and body mount straightening is welcome. Thanks
