I think you're right, Derek. As far as I know there's three temp senders - the one in front next to the cold start timing switch (I think this is the one that feeds the ECU), the one on the coolant neck that the AC listens to, and the one on the intake plenum about halfway down the side of the block, which I think is the one that feeds the gauge.

I read somewhere that there's a second sensor on the coolant neck on turbo trucks, but I haven't confirmed that.

In that case, yes my truck has factory A/C.
