Copying and pasting from another forum, that copied and pasted from another forum. No reason to believe none of this stuff isn't true...

Here are the specs for all UR engines:

DOHC, 32-valve, dual VVT-i, chain driven, roller rocker valvetrain with low coefficient of friction roller bearings, molybdenum coated pistons with anti-friction coated #1 and #2 compression rings, available dual fuel injection on passenger car engines with single fuel injection on truck based engines, second generation high performance, low friction F head design stemmed from the GR series engines. ACIS II/III integrated into the intake manifold, which continuously varies the intake runner length depending on engine conditions and detection of air mass within the manifold. Roller rockers provide more valve lift in performance applications than previous cam lobe driven bucket type valves.

1UR-FSE 5.0L 90 degree V8 with dual VVT-i (IS500)
1UR-FXE 5.0L 90 degree Atkinson cycle V8 with dual VVT-i (LS600hL)
Aluminum block and heads
Lightweight forged and sintered connecting rods for greater efficiency, revvablility, and reliability
Lightweight moly coated pistons
Forged steel crankshaft with 8 weight balancers
Dual fuel injection with air assisted port injection and unassisted direct injection
Larger intake and exhaust ports and slightly larger valves for increased performance
Performance tuning
Estimated power:
430-450hp
400-440lb-ft

2UR-FSE 4.6L 90 degree V8 with dual VVT-i (LS460, GS460)
Aluminum block and heads
Lightweight forged and sintered connecting rods for greater efficiency, revvability, and reliability
Lightweight moly coated pistons
Forged steel crankshaft with 8 weight balancers
Dual fuel injection with air assisted port injection and unassisted direct injection
Estimated power:
380hp
370lb-ft

3UR-FE 5.7L 90 degree V8 with dual VVT-i (Tundra)
Aluminum block and heads/Cast iron block w/ aluminum alloy heads (?)
Forged, high strength internals with 6 bolt main crankshaft bearing caps, fully balanced forged crankshaft with high strength connecting rod bolts
Large diameter forged connecting rods with heavy duty moly coated pistons
Single fuel injection - air assisted port injection for greater fuel atomization
High compression relative to other truck engines
First truck engine with dual VVT-i
Estimated power:
400hp
470lb-ft

4UR-FE 4.7L 90 degree V8 with dual VVT-i (Tundra, 4Runner)
Aluminum block and heads/Cast iron block w/ aluminum alloy heads (?)
Forged, high strength internals with 6 bolt main crankshaft bearing caps, fully balanced forged crankshaft with high strength connecting rod bolts
Large diameter forged connecting rods with heavy duty moly coated pistons
Single fuel injection - air assisted port injection for greater fuel atomization
Estimated power: (bridges gap between 1GR and 3UR)
335hp
375lb-ft

So I guess that means the new Tundra up-option motor is 400hp which is great with a fam on the way our next yota is a Tundra which I would have to have the larger motor. Just wish we waited on the 06 for the 07 335hp:( . Oh well love the 06 and the 99 SR5 4x4 will remain in the family as the picnic offroad crawler.

Talk about an "Old dog learning new tricks". Toyota can no longer be considered conservative in making hp. Oh, :bugeye: is that a 4.7 V8 making 330HP?

YES IT IS. But if you read the specs its almost an entirely new engine. The only thing it really has in common with the UZ is the displacement and the iron block/aluminum heads...

Still, that doesn't negate the fact that Toyota should be making 300+ easily from this size motor, and from the looks of the UR they have...

Koz, be sure to check my Stage 1 thread for the latest cut of BEEF. Dynoing TODAY.

Well that'll pretty much seal the deal for me trading my '05 in on an '08 when they're available. I'd rather let the '07 owners work out all the bugs before I take a stab at it. :D

any details on when they are going to start using these engines (besides the LS for 2007)? and are these figures trade show or actual production figures? With an all aluminum block I can see some major retooling ahead for Toyota... Since the 4Runner isn't targeted for a redesign until '09, does that mean we have to wait another 2-3 years?

A new engine was not in the 2007 4Runner new car specs document from Toyota. So if they are introducing it in the 07 4Runners, it is a surprise or a mid-year shift.

I bet the new engine for the 4Runner doesn't come until the '09 redesign. I would bet a whole lot of money it isn't going to be in the '07 considering their site still lists the -UZ engine.

I'd say begin to look for it in '08-'09 models...

Considering all of the redesign, front suspension has to be lightened to account for the reduced weight, possibly changes to the tranny/torque converter, engine mounts, and electronics... I hate to say it, but I think '09 is probably going to be the first year to see this engine.

I agree, next major redesign is most likely scenario. I am also assuming this engine is going to be on a new line or using a portion of a current line alternately, that has to come up to full speed. And with the Tundra launch, all of the engines they can make are going to have homes in frames with open beds at the back.

I hope so, but according to autoweek.com, they said that there won't be a LX570, only the Landcruiser. Then again, I don't believe every article printed in newspaper or websites. With these new motors, we won't need TRD to develop S/C. Too bad TRD aren't working on s/c for us power hungry maniacs at the moment!

That is a very solid new engine lineup.....hopefully a V8 option will pop up for Tacomas, and the big-boy motor will be optional on the 4R. Not holding my breath, but that would be kewl.

I've be mad a$$ $hit! if the 07 get this!

No mention of an upcoming Diesel. Too bad!

Yes, that is too bad. There are more than a few people that see the lack of a Diesel Engine option in the upcoming Tundra as a big mistake on Toyota's part.

Personally, I see it as a missed opportunity on Toyota's part to add a more fuel efficient engine option to the new Tundra lineup and to the 4Runner as well. With any luck a Diesel engine option will be available when the 4Runner is redesigned in 2-3 years.

the new engine line up looks solid, but i think i'd rather wait untill the 4runner gets remodelled again untill i make the trade. new engine is great but i'd like to see the bugs gone and get the most bang for my buck with the new engine and body design.
