Newb here, question about 4x4 indicator

Hey all happy to say I finally joined the ranks of 4Runner owners, sad to say that my 4 wheel driver indicator isn't working. I'm fairly certain that the 4x4 is working however the indicator isn't coming on. I realize if the 4x4 is working the light is cosmetic, but I'm wondering if there is anything else that I can check before writing it off as a bulb being out?

Might be helpful if you provided info such as year and model. Perhaps s picture of the dash. Are you trying to engage 4H, 4L, lockers, etc?
