Hey everyone. I just bought my first 4runner. 2003 V8 Sport with X-Reas and 223,000 miles. I am an ex Toyota Master Diagnostic technician, ex Lexus Master Technician, and have been a long time Cruiser head (hence my username). I haven't had a Cruiser for a few years and decided to go with a 4runner this time. I was jonesing for something more off-road capable than my 2000 Forester, which has been places that NO Forester should be allowed to go. Ha Ha. I have big plans for my 4runner and am excited to start building it. Needs a little love, but nothing abnormal for the mileage.
Aside from the normal maintenance (timing belt, water pump, CV boots, leaking t-case actuator, seized left front brake caliper, and possible front wheel bearings), I think I have my lift all figured out. I am a LONG time Old Man Emu supporter, and had them on my 2 main Land Cruisers, and loved them. But, I think on this build, I'm going to go with the @Metal-tech 4x4 stage 5 long travel kit with Icon remote res front and rear. I also think I am going to go with the @JBA front UCA's because I like that they have more ball joint movement, and are greaseable. I have a set of newer model FJ wheels that were on the 2003 Sequoia that I had with my ex, that will replace these Sport wheels that are majorly corroded. I like the [MENTION=3663]shrockworks[/MENTION] front bumper, and wish there were more options for a rear. @Slee makes some very good looking sliders for the 5th gen 4runner, but I wish they made some for the 4th gen. I may wind up making my own and use them to hold air also. I also like the [MENTION=66130]Frontrunner[/MENTION] roof rack set up.
All in all, let's start spending some money on this bad boy!!
