Newbie in Katy, TX

Just picked up a 2004 V6 2WD with 3rd row this weekend and figured I had better join up and stop lurking around.

Immediate plans are the FJ swap (suspension feels worn and it needs new tires so might as well have at it), buddy is sending me new springs and Bilsteins from Toytechlifts.com for the rear that he had laying around from a previous 4Runner (he moved on to a Tacoma before installing everything). Just ordered up my 5100's for the front from downsouthmotorsports.com and a set of 1.25 Spidertrax wheel spacers off of ebay.

Looking to get a set of 255/75R17 Rubicon take off BFG Mud Terrains. Question I have is should I have enough clearance to run these? I understand I might need to move my fender liner forward and possible trim/remove mudflaps and trim rear bumper. But other than that should they work?

Welcome to the forum, your 4R looks familiar (or maybe it just looks like mine 3 years ago). I would throw the toytec 1/4" lift spacers in there with the front, unless you're using 5100s, just in case as the 255s may not quite clear with spidertrax and no more lift than the FJ coils provide. The 1/4" lift spacer should just make your 2wd v6 sit level, not nose high.

I ran that setup with 265/70s for a while before switching to 5100s, then I took the spacers out and set the front 5100s to 0.85" lift.

Yep I ordered up the 5100's today and was planning on setting them at .85".

Sounds like with that I should be okay with the 255/75R17s.... Correct?

Well got everything done last week so I thought I would post up the after pictures (sorry no before/after side by side shots or before/after measurements)

Installed Spidertrax 1.25" spacers front and rear - $195.90 shipped off Electronics, Cars, Fashion, Collectibles, Coupons and More Online Shopping | eBay
Installed 255/75R17 Rubicon BFG Mud Terrain take-offs - $400.00 for all 5 (4 with 12,000 miles spare never used)
Had alignment done (paid buddy at dealer $60.00 for mounting tires and alignment)

All said and done I couldn't be happier with the set-up. Truck handles about 500 times better than it did with the worn out tires and suspension (140,000 miles).

Only issues I am having is the front tires slightly rub on the fender liners and full lock and incline/decline but I haven't relocated the fender liners forward yet.
