Tomorrow morning here in Hampton Roads it will be steel cut oatmeal, sprinkled with dark brown sugar, a pat of real butter and a wee dram of single malt scotch instead of milk or cream. :tongue:

We call him Jim Calamity down Salvo way. They didn't quite understand how storms work down there awhile back. They lost several vehicles, including a SAT truck as I remember. To my knowledge the Weather Channel has never returned since.:bounce:

1st is out back looking NE out Salt Pond Inlet to the Chesapeake Bay. Don't be fooled by depth on deck. Wind about 25kts from N so it's blowing away there.

2nd is TR4 in front driveway basically out of wind. Maybe 8" on top.

I live in Bellevue (west Nashville), TN and unfortunately don't have the luxury to always stay home since I'm a labor and delivery RN. We get occurrences on our records if we don't make it in for our shift(s).

Obviously if things are terrible enough (which with our ice, terrible drivers even in the best of conditions, and lack of proper plow trucks can be even with a light dusting, unfortunately!) I stay home whenever possible! I got off my night shift right as the snow was coming down yesterday morning. I got slowly and safely home but not after struggling to get up a slight incline with my useless F150 2WD (I know, I know. I moved here from SoCal and I'm currently in the market to trade it for a 4Runner as I type!! It's a SuperCrew...so front heavy with RWD and absolutely no traction.)

I've been warm and safe inside since with no plans to venture out 'til roads are better or until my next shift Tuesday night! :bluejump:

Inpatient Heme/Onc in Nashville. Totally understand. There's no "call in" because the weather is bad, the world is ending,etc. Lol.

Yup! Someone's gotta keep saving lives (or I guess in my case, bring life into the world, eh?) Stay safe out there, everyone! Over here in Bellevue it's mostly all melted. I'll be cleaning out my truck tomorrow to get ready for some dealership appointments looking at 4Runners on Monday :dancin:

Took the 4runner out in snowy VA Beach today. While a competent driver would have had little to no issues driving around town in 2wd, I couldn't pass the opportunity to "lube up" the 4wd. As expected, the 4runner handled anything I threw at it with ease, bone stock to include the Bridgestone duelers. It felt surprisingly sure-footed, I was expecting the Bridgestone tires to be sketchy.
