NGK vs. DENSO Spark Plugs

Did anyone used any of those Spark Plugs for 4.0 1GR-FE 4th Gen. 4Runner?
I found several options from NGK and DENSO:
- Platinum
DENSO Platinum TT 0.040" (#: PKH20TT) $12.88
NGK G-Power 0.040" (#: LFR6CGP) $8.06
- Iridium
DENSO Iridium TT 0.040" (#: IKH20TT) $18.87
NGK Iridium IX 0.044" (#: LFR6AIX-11) $9.26

I threw ngk iridium plugs in mine when I got it. Can't imagine it makes much of a difference on a modern engine, as long as they are gapped correctly.

Some are 0.040" and some 0.044"

NGK Laser Iridium ILFR6T11 are 0.044" gap. $16.83

Denso are oem & funny enough on V8s one is ngk & other is denso . Denso is what I used on both mine .

I installed Denso about 6 tanks of gas ago. The vehicle has just over 200,000 km on it and it had 80,000 when I bought it. The dealer (Toyota) said they replaced the plugs before the sale. There was no reason not to trust the guy because everything else he said they did was done, including the brakes which i am still driving with today (need to replace the pads sometime this summer). The plugs (also Denso) were in great shape when I put the new ones in. In fact, I now think I should have just let them be. The weird thing is that my consumption went up after I put the new plugs in. I noticed it on the first tank of gas and thought it just must be my perception. But now 6 or so tanks later, it seems it really did go up since I drive less miles on every tank now. Pretty weird.

Cylinder heads are manufactured in different locations, so one facility may stock NGK and the other Denso.

I replaced all 8 of my plugs with NGK Iridium and it’s running like a champ. No issues whatsoever

I believe V8 originally been using Iridium.

Cylinder heads are manufactured in different locations, so one facility may stock NGK and the other Denso.

They probably meant that 4 plugs are NGK and 4 plugs are Denso, they come that way from the factory. One way of telling that you're still on original plugs.

I read that Iridium was necessary. Don’t really think brand is going to effect you that much. As long as they are to spec.

Iridium were for V8 only from the factory.

You’re right, I just wanted them all one brand instead of running Denso on one side and NGK on the other. They were factory at 185k so I figured switching them out would do some good. They weren’t in bad shape though, was pleasantly surprised
