The nice FedEx man dropped of a box from Toytec today.
I ordered their "Ultimate" kit with the Bilstein 5100's up front with 600lb springs (although, it looks like they accidentally shipped me 650lb springs, oh well.) I opted for the Bilstein 5125's in the rear with OME 890's. Here are a few pics:

I bought that trailer hitch cover, then promptly lost it when we were first getting to know southern California's off road areas. lol
As for the wheels, anyone have any idea how strong they are? Don't get me wrong they look great and I can't wait to see them on, but will they hold the weight of all the extra gear when being taken out on trails and hole filled back roads or CA freeways and abused?

Lol. Good to know. I'll make sure to remove the hitch cover before any offroad trips.
I thought about that briefly too. With my CRX, I always tried to run "real" wheels, not knockoffs. But with the CRX, I had maybe 3" of tire surrounding the wheel. With the Duratracs, I have 7"+ of tire protecting the wheel. I'm not really too worried about damage from pot-holes, etc.
As for the wheels themselves...I'm not sure how these ones were formed, but I'm assuming they're cast of some-sort. From what little researching I did with wheels for the 4Runner, I didn't actually come across many that are forged. I think these wheels have just as much potential to last or break as 90% of the wheels that other guys are running. Time will tell!
haha. I did make some more progress today. I had the tires mounted to the wheels. Man...these wheels and the E rated Duratracs are NOT a light-weight combo! That's something else I have to get used to with the offroading hobby.
But I think I have just about all I need to get this stuff installed. Now I just need to find some time to do it. I've lowered a few Honda's over the years, but this will be my first attempt at lifting a vehicle! lol

Thanks for the tip about the hitch. Mine does look pretty faded and sad too. Eventually, I'll be swapping out the rear bumper but, in the meantime, I'll probably try your trick...or just paint it.
I hurt my ankle this week, so I was unable to start on the lift install this weekend, but I did get some more parts ordered. I ordered the B&M tranny cooler, as well as some new oem lower ball joints (and new oem bolts.) I figured I might as well change out the LBJ's while I have the wheels off for the lift install.
Oh...and speaking of bumpers....
On xmas eve, it rained pretty hard here and the roads were pretty slick (ya, even in SoCal! lol). Anyway...on a curving freeway onramp, my rear-end slid out from under me, sending me across the freeway. I ended up t-boning a car in the middle of the freeway. Luckily, neither I or the other driver were injured. I totally jacked up the side/rear quarter of her old Jetta.
Since I hit her pretty squarely, my 4Runner sustained fairly minimal damage. I haven't taken my bumper off yet to inspect the damage, but from a quick look, I think there is no damage beyond the bumper support...just cosmetic damage to the bumper and bumper lights.
I ended up getting a pretty decent amount from insurance. So, provided I find no significant damage under the bumper, I'll be ordering an aftermarket front bumper and sliders. Now the hard part is deciding what bumper to go with. lol! I've already decided to go with Savage Offroad for the sliders. For the bumper, it's between Shrockworks, OutdoorLogic, and 4x Innovations.

Today I spent some time taking off my front bumper to inspect the guts underneath. Overall, I think I'm in good shape. The crumple part of the bumper support did it's job. It bent a bit on the passenger side and took some of the force out of the collision. After taking off the bumper support, the frame rail end plates still look flat. All the bolts came out easy and all the bolt holes still line up. So I think I'm safe to order an aftermarket front bumper and bypass having a body shop work on the truck.
In the meantime, I'll be rolling around with no front bumper. It's pretty whack looking, but the bumper cover was kinda hard to remove, since it's all tweaked. I don't want to attempt to try to put it back on for now.
As for what bumper to get....as I mentioned above, I had narrowed it down to Shrockworks, 4x Innovations, and Outdoor Logic. After much internal debate, I'm pretty sure that I've decided to go with Outdoor Logic. Now I just have to place the order and start the waiting game.

lol, yeah, I've been driving for 20+ years, but this is my first rear wheel drive vehicle. But yeah...I definitely need to watch it when it gets wet out.

In the meantime, I got a couple more boxes dropped at my doorstep today. I picked up a pair of oem lower ball joints. I also ordered the 4 bolts for each side. I didn't know that the ball joints come with the castle nuts and cotter pins, so I also ordered a pair of castle nuts. Oh well, now I have spares!
It's not as exciting, but I also picked up a set of Bosch Icon wiper blades. The standard wipers that came with my 4Runner are starting to streak and they're kind of noisy. I've heard good things about the Icon's, so I figured I'd give them a shot.
And I also ordered a B&M transmission cooler. I know it's true with all vehicles (and it seems that it's especially true with our 4Runners), but preventative maintenance goes a long way. That's why after this round of parts, I'll be changing all the fluids/plugs/filters/etc. Anyway, here are a couple pics of the tranny cooler:

Bummer on the accident, but I guess it's gunna work out OK for you seeing as how no one was injured and your 4Runner didn't recieve any severe damage. The shrockworks bumper is super nice but it's not worth the wait time and it's comparatively more expensive. I love my ODL bumper and think it will look amazing on your truck. I vote hoopless. :thumb3:

Yeah, I got super lucky that neither I nor the other person were injured. It was just a bonus that the 4Runner didn't get too damaged. And an extra bonus that I got a decent amount of cash from insurance!
I totally dig the Shrockworks bumper. If the decision was based purely on aesthetics, I'd choose that bumper hands down. If I was paying for it myself, then the price would be a concern. Since insurance is flipping the bill, I'd say screw it! lol But, ultimately, the stories about horrible wait times is what killed that bumper for me.
I think the 4x Innovations bumper has a very similar look to the Shrockworks. But those exposed brackets on the bottom? No thanks! It looks unfinished and unnecessarily cluttered.
So, in the end, I decided on the Outdoor Logic bumper. I do really like the design, and it's a plus that it was the cheapest of the bunch. And it helps that I'm local to them, so I can just pick it up and save on the shipping costs. I placed my order today. So hopefully in a few weeks, I should have a new front bumper! :rockon: Oh, and yes, hoopless all the way!

I just wanted to respond in here to answer your question about the strength of this wheel.
All of our wheels are made strictly from 100% virgin aluminum (no recycled / reclaimed aluminum). The wheels are all tested to a minimum load rating of 955KG (2,100lbs+), which means they can definitely take some abuse.
The wheels are also certified to JWL-T / VIA standards (Japanese), TUV (Germany / Europe) as well as the voluntary standard of SAE J2530. The USA doesn't currently have a government standard for testing like Japan and Germany, so SEMA worked with SAE to develop a stringent standard that is voluntary, but which should be a hallmark for well made wheels.
Basically, we choose to have our wheels designed, engineered and tested to meet these strict standards so that we can offer something to our customers that we know will be a quality product, and to give our customers piece of mind. Currently no wheels being sold in the USA are required to meet any of the standards I mentioned above, but as a consumer it's definitely worth it to be on the lookout for compliant wheels. Without certification there is no way of knowing the quality of the wheel.
Here's a link with more information about the SAE J2530 standard. All wheels that bear the FN Wheels brand name are tested to ensure compliance with SAE J2530 standards.

I don't want to overstate anything or give an impression that our wheels are bullet proof or indestructible - they are not, and I don't know of any wheels that are indestructible. Even ultra high dollar forged aluminum, billet aluminum, or super heavy duty steel wheels are not indestructible. Given the right amount of angle, weight, and force any wheel can break. But our wheels manufactured and third party tested to handle just about anything you can throw at them, so you can have piece of mind when driving on or off the trails with all of your passengers, gear, over-sized tires, aftermarket suspension, etc.
