I've got a 93' 4runner and got a new HU (JVC w/ HD and after market euro style antenna) I told installers at Circuit City to make sure I got AM. So after install there is no AM at all and the installer guys all say that they have no idea why not. I tried to explain to them that there is probably an antenna amp that needs to be hooked up. Is this the case? And where will it be exactly.

AM reception sucks on all aftermarket radios. That's just how it is, and IDK why. AM is picked up through chassis ground, so the only thing you could really try is adding a better ground to the radio.
