I also agree if you have the 98 engine harness that might be the easiest way to solve this

Looks to me like all the colors match. I know the small connections do and It sure looks like the large ones do too.


Verify with your 98 engine harness and if they do. It maybe best to swap that engine harness over to the 98.

I try to check tonight thoughly on that large connector. I just out of time now.

Oh no. Actually I may. My 98 that i am stripping was mfg 4 /98. I believe my limited is a 1997. If this is the case. I will not need this engine harness. I need to verify this to make sure I am correct. As I be swapping a 1997 harness to this engine.

turns out that is a very special year of wire harness.... and not many around really.

right now this is my wire harness... it's a lot easier to get them off when the body is up in the air... ouch my fingers!

I'm kind of bummed because I separated the starter portion out. at least in 97 there is no physical connection between the engine harness and the starter portion. to my knowledge none of the years had any connections. they just wrapped them up together for easy packaging I would think.

Well I just checked my limited and its mfg was 11/96 so it's a 1997. I wont need the 1998 harness. However the 1998 is a limited. So I need to check those numbers. Hopefully tonight we will know.

I just checked my parts car and its 7/98 For some reason I thought it was a 99. If you can't get the engine harness from brillo give me a pm and I will pull it off and toss it in the mail.

I say that's a good guess. I did know our 3 rd gens had 3 different wiring harnesses [ on the same year] Not to mention 3 different phases through the production years.

What's the part number? Maybe your harness will work for Sleepy Dad.
