No front sway bar on Daily driver

I replaced my steering rack, all tie rods, and bushings, Coming from a history of CJ's and wranglers I found it to be a *****. And my steering wheel is 180* upside down even after careful assembly but my alignment is still on point.

Front sway bar bushings were shot so it's still off. Who runs daily on the regular without one?

I don't have sway or tac-bars on the front or rear of my YJ

I don't have a front or rear sway bar on my DD, i'm going to put the rear back on once i get extended links though cause I have more body roll than i'd prefer.

I read on here about someone who wore out some rear shocks pretty quickly not running a rear sway bar. Unless it's a dedicated wheeler, I'd stick to keeping them on. Disconnects if necessary

I run without both and drive it daily. Broke the rear on a trail and took 'em both off then and never looked back. I've got a decent amount of body roll but just like any vehicle once you get use to it you won't even notice it.

I ran with mine disconnected (both front links were busted) for 3 months and just recently replaced them with OEM equivalent. Did not notice any difference at all, granted I haven't had to make any sharp turns going full speed on highway to see what would happen...

I busted a link and just pulled everything off until I could get the links I wanted....and then I promptly forgot all about for a month until I was under the truck again and realized I never fixed it.

Realized I was fine without it but eventually I'll get it back on because it will help the wife more than myself.

I'm a lead foot & have to drive through twisty forest mountain roads. I love my extended sway bar end links. It suck driving without them. AND DANGEROUS.

I've been driving around for a while without either of them. I do get quite a bit of body roll which is annoying but I never feel that its dangerous. I just drive my vehicle accordingly

X2-- I drive too fast to not have sway bars. I took my rear sway bar off, and could feel the rear end coming out more in the corners than I liked it to, so I put it back on with poly bushings and disconnects. The roads around me are way too curvey and rural for me to go without sway bars. I have also hit 2 deer in the past 6 months, and can't imagine a panic swerve woul
d go well with no sway bars.

Keep sway bars connected.

As for you steering wheel. Your rack was not centered when installed. Being that far off you are putting some strain on the clock spring and it can break. Not a fun deal to repair. You need to center rack by measuring both sides evenly. Then realign the steering at the column. Not fun at all.

Yea took a drive today and I vote sway bar on. But it was a lot more smooth of ride on the access road to the job site @30mph.

The clock spring got broke. Airbag light, no horn, and no cruise now. :violin:

1 step forward and two steps back but I'll get this sum***** licked.

I have only rear away bar with extended links. Front springs are fairly stiff, I take corners as fast as I want.

After time I noticed my front coils really loosened up after no sway bar. After a year or so it really sways. Front back installed was like night and day.

Good to know. I'll probably get it installed eventually at least to see what it feels like.

I know ive said on here before that its fine without a front sway, but i guess ive matured since and changed my mind. Yea, it may be way smoother on the trails and more flex is always great, but the majority of the time I'm not on the trails. On the road its just easier to deal with, not to mention the safety aspect the one time you REALLY need it there. Your tires and most other front end components will thank you as well.

Plus I blew a bilstein strut in about 2 years. Probably had something to do with it.

I drove without my front sway bar for 2 weeks & it was great over bumpy roads & pot holes. Smooth like a Caddy but I hate the way it dipped on turns.

Today I got it back on with new end links and bracket/bushing combo. It poped a little till what I figured is got itself centered and is no longer popping. The changes are subtle during normal driving conditions. Without the sway bar, rough terrain was soaked up so much better especially washboarded roads. Also the grip into corners was phenomenal even on the brakes. Here truth was understeer is a lot more prevalent with the sway bar on but bouncy on and off ramp high speed cornering tradeoff is a lot more predictable and confidant. For a primary commuter/weekend getaway vehicle I recommend the swaybar installed.
