No love for the Salsa?

I love checking out the pictures around here and I'm super jealous of a lot of folk's 4Runners, but I notice a distinct absence of Salsa Red 4Runners.

Anyone else got a Salsa?

Mine was my dad's, so I didn't choose the color. Honestly, I would have gone with the Grey myself. After seeing some of the rigs around here, I'd probably go for white if I had to pick today.

I've got what I've got though, just wondering if anyone else out there has the same.

I always liked the salsa red as well, but you're right there aren't a lot.. Only ones I can think of are CJ3FLYR on here, and ludedude and one other person on toyota120.com..

Guess they're kinda rare? I almost bought a red one when I was thinking about upgrading mine but decided against the upgrade.

The green ones are definitely the rarest, I've only seen a couple and those both came with the grey plastic cladding.

Not much done to it yet. Here's mine:

I've debadged it since then. Like the clean look a lot better. I'm going to plasti-dip the wheels. I can always take it off if I hate it.

I forgot, my favorite mod yet. I switched the "oh sh*t" handle from the rear driver's side up to the driver's seat. I now have handle to hold while I'm driving.

I've also got a premium sound system w/sub inside (it was all my dad's. Dad was a bit of an audiophile). I upgraded the head unit so that it runs every sort of music device I have and is linked to my phone via bluetooth. My phone calls all come through my speakers and it turns off my music when I'm on a call.

I'm installing a CB for the fun of it with a p.a. speaker. After that, Daystar 2.5/1.5 lift.

It's everything I love, 4x4, v8. The only thing I wish I had was a sunroof. Man I love sunroofs.

I remember when I was looking for mine I saw the production numbers for colors and white, grey, and black accounted for 80% of what was made and Green, blue, and red accounted for only 20%. I think they dropped green when they switched to the painted cladding mid way through 03.

Now that I have a 4th gen I notice just about every one that I pass on the road. I saw a color while I was on vacation this past week that I have never seen before. I would best describe it as beige/tan. It wasn't the gold. Anybody know what that color is? I guess it could have been a re-paint.

There are definately people that are tride and true to the Salsa Pearl!

There's a guy i work with that waited until the 5th gen's were available in the Salsa before purchasing his. I guess they werent available the 1st year (?)

I see a lot of red ones locally. None modded though. I like them just fine, but definitely not in my top choices for color. I'm pretty plain... A sucker for a white vehicle.

There is a member on here, I think his handle is something like JDKilroy, that has one and it is gorgeous!

Love mine!! Slowly but surely modding. Here she is so far... Just recently plasti dipped the emblems, I'm glad I finally saw the pic of the salsa red with blacked out head lights. Wasn't sure if I was going to, but now I am!

I'm just getting done plastidipping my wheels. I like the look. I think I'm going to keep it for a while. I've got a good bit left over, so I think I'm going to plastidip my grill and rear emblems too and just black it out.

Yeah, I did it myself back in January.

I apparently didn't get the seal back well, because I've got condensation issues. I'm going to have to take them back off and clean the lenses and see if I can get a better seal.

All in all though, I'd much rather do it myself and figure out the condensation than pay the ridiculous prices people charge for a pair off ebay.
