Open the rear and take off the paneling.

There is an entire "box" in there that all the controls for that window lead to. Check that they are all plugged in and what not.

Common failure point for wires which can result in any type of rear hatch problem. Probably a few broken in your case.

The rear wiper and dome light would not have been affected by a window lock switch.

After you check the box have a look at all the wires. Check the wires between the hatch and body there could be a break in there somewhere. Because the window goes up and down with the key your relays sound like they are working. You could also check the inside switch with an ohm meter. The copper inside of the switch might not be making contact.

Does the rear defrost work?

Looking to revive this old post. My power locks w/ the FOB didn't work (yes i repacked the battery), rear defrost didn't work, rear window did not open/close and the wiper was out of commission as well. Had an issue with the alarm going off, and the doors refusing to stay locked, kept going back and forth then staying unlocked. Replaced the rear door switch/mechanism, everything back to normal...for a little while. Back at the similar issue, with everything on the rear door not working. No alarm issues but the FOB doesn't work again (yet to replace the battery again this time). Wires seems to be all okay going from the body to the door.

I'd take another look at the wiring from the body to the door. It's sure sounding like a wiring issue.

I know this is going to sound dumb but did you remove the lead to your battery for 20 seconds then re-sync your locks and windows? I had disconnected the ECU in the back hatch and the door acted dead. Window didn't work, door latch wouldn't work...ect. Did this procedure (you can find on YT) and everything started working correctly. also it sounds like the yellow piece that fits on the back of the key tumbler may be faulty.

make sure your rear wiper is in the all the way off position, if its not the window wont work, its a failsafe

I have a similar issue with my 02 SR5. The window works with the key. The rear wiper doesn't work. The front switch for the window doesn't work because there is no harness hooked up for it, unless mine came with the wrong bezel.

Mine was doing the same thing, the large orange relay unit inside the tailgate was the culprit:

REAR WINDOW RELAY MODULE 85930-35040

Similar but Weird issue:

Trying to find a fix for my power rear window on my 2001 SR5. Rolls up and down just fine with the key. Does not work at front switch neither does the rear wiper or dome light. BUT they will work if one of fronts doors is left open. As soon as all the doors are closed these functions stop working again.

Iv checked wiring and didn’t notice any broken and the fuses seem fine. Any other suggestions??

That really sounding like breaking or broken wires.

See which wire is in both those circuits and trace it

Open door and working is telling me they are making with the doors open.

Are they powered by the same circuit?

Or a wire with cracked insulation shorting to another wire?
