I have searched everywhere so I have to post and just ask a simple question. I am looking at tires and currently run 265/70/17 and plan on going to 285/70/17. I have OME 883's with Bilstein 5100's up front and Downey 3" rear springs w/Doetch Tech shocks & Daystar 1.25" spacer. I don't think I will rub but I am not sure. I also have Sequoia 17" wheels. This is my daily driver and family hauler so I don't really need issues but like a nice looking tire to fill out the open hole that the 265/70/17 has there now. Also the Downey seem to be a little lower in the rear then the front. There is about 1/4"-1/2" difference is this normal?

I can confidently say that there is a 90% chance that you will rub.
33s almost always rub. The amount of suspension lift (stock or lifted) doesn't matter. It will rub in the same spots, just more often on stock suspension. When you compress the suspension (to where the stock suspension is), this is where/when you will rub. At full compression, 33s almost always need a small body lift the keep the tires off the fenders. If you are talking about a street truck, you won't rub often. 33s don't rub too much and where they do can pretty easily be taken care of with a little cutting and pounding.
Wheel spacers increase the rubbing by moving the wheel out into a larger turning arc.

So would I be better off keeping the 265/70/17. I really don't want to be rubbing like on driveway curbs...or dropping off road into the woods. I Used to have a bow tie truck that I had to lift and body lift and still had to trim to fit 37" tires on. I want to keep the runner nice and not go that route. But I still want a nice tire on it.
