No start/no crank issue. Need help

Posting in here to see if someone has come across this before I start diagnosing. Went out to start the truck this morning, and it clicked but wouldn't start. I thought maybe dead battery. I jumped it and it started after a couple of minutes. I thought ok must be the battery. Threw the known good battery out of my benz in it, and it will still not start. It clicks like crazy, I have full electrical power, but will not turn over. Normally I would think starter, but it will start with a jump. I also checked all connections, and everything seems tight. Anyone have any ideas? It's a 98 V6

It's the starter. Search the site for "3rd gen starter contacts".

When you jump it your giving it enough amps for the contacts to energize. That's why it's starting when you jump it but not on a good single battery.

Check the ground, many times people check the positive side but not the ground. Check the terminal, where it grounds on the body and frame. Good luck, electrical gremlins can be way worse then mechanical.

There are NO gremlins. This is the most talked about failure on 3rd gens. Google is your friend.

OP, please do a search about starter contacts.
