Noise from the steering column when I turn left and right

This isn't tires rubbing at full lock and this isn't the driveline clunk, this is a slight creeking when I turn the steering wheel left or right. The noise comes from the steering column and I hear it inside the passanger area (this isn't an outside or under the hood noise).

I swear I read something about a DIY fix for this, but search didn't help me. Any help?

Weird. Never heard anything about this. Best I can tell you is try and open it up and see if you can pinpoint where it's coming from, then maybe we can go from there?
