Noise/vibration when turning left?

The day that i had some sliders installed i started hearing what sounds like rubbing and vibration under where my left foot sits on the floor board.

I checked first to see if the liner is rubbing or the mud guards are getting hit, and did not find anything. It only sounds like its coming from the left, and where i can feel the vibration.

I'm on Tacoma struts with 265/70/17 Cooper Discover ATP. The CVs aren't leaking and no boots are turned. This only happens when almost, but not quite to full-lock to the left.

Any suggestions or thoughts?

do you have any pics? are there any circumstances when it does not happen? what about at in reverse?

i had that same sound but only had it when i was in reverse and it was my mudflap rubbing, however, when i got out with the wheel cranked it wasnt touching, i suspect you may have a similar situation, but i am not sure.

That's what it sounds like. I've been offloading with Tacoma guys who flex their trucks and the tires "eat" the trim, and that's exactly what it sounds like.

It doesn't happen in reverse, only forward and turned left. I checked when i got out and nothing, but then again, i wasn't moving. There is no rub marks to indicate it is rubbing though. Did you trim your flaps?

yeah i did trim my flaps, didn't help though. i really should remove them but id rather have them on, especially this coming winter

Not to thread jack, but I have a similar noise/front left vibration that my left foot can ever so slightly feel through the dead pedal. Recently I went to 32" tires. They don't rub anywhere from numerous tests and they are more narrow than stock. I think maybe the added 5 lb/tire weight and increased circumference may have some effect. I wonder if it's cv axles causing this common issue we're experiencing. I checked as well, no grease thrown and the boots look fit.

Did you check to make sure the sliders aren't contacting the body? Seems like the first place to check given that the problems started the day the sliders were installed. Also...are they bolt on, welded? What brand slider?

I know that I had to tweak my sliders when I first mounted them because they were contacting the truck floor pan.

They are Shrockworks bolt-on. I removed the mud guard, checked for contact and still no findings

Did you double check the bolts are snug etc? I loosened the bolts on mine and jumped up and down on them to settle them in. Then torqued the heck out of them and no noise/movement since.

Even if it looks like there's a bit of clearance, you'll be surprised how much the body can move and make contact. It could be something else, but the timing is suspicious.

Just re-checked and found the front bolt is possibly too long.

Since it is near impossible to push the bolt through the slider because of the body, it went through from door side, inward, where others are from center-to-door.

I'm guessing when the truck turns left, the body is moving and the bolt is rubbing the body because when in the garage, still and flat, it's already touching.

I have two options 1) put more washers to space it back out, or 2)find a shorter bolt?

Think this may be the cause?

Do you see any noticeable scratches or marks from the bold on the body? If it is bumping and rubbing enough to make a vibration, there ought to be some good marks I would think.

I backed out the bolt about 1/2"…yes, it was that tight…and it solved the problem.

Glad you were able to find the issue! If you backed the bolt out that far, I'd caution you to check the torque to make sure it's in spec. Last thing you want is it coming loose and having the slider flex up into the truck body when you're on the trail.
