Non-JBL radio (scion T10015) w/ JBL amp/10 speakers possible?

I currently have the 10 speaker JBL system in my 05 SR5. It was an add on package.

I would really like to install one of the new 2014 T10015 scion pioneer touchscreen decks, but retain the JBL amp and all 10 speakers. I know a lot of guys will say to replace it all, but I am trying to keep the costs down...still need to replace the suspension.

one of those TYTO deals will not work, as the scion radio does not have any RCA outputs. i am not knowledgeable about the whole low/high level line outs either.

is there any way to wire up the non JBL scion unit to my JBL setup and still retain everything?

There are a bunch of write-ups regarding the Scion units, primarily for non JBL. I had the same issue as you. I previously had the JBL system installed and purchased a Scion HU with the intention of either bypassing the amp or using a line out converter. As far as I know your only real option will be to utilize a line out converter to give yourself the needed RCA outs. They are very easy to install. The issue you may run into however is the space behind the HU itself, there is not much room.

I chose to bypass the factory amp altogether and run just the door speakers from the Scion HU and added an amp and woofer. Personally it sounds much better than before. Even doing just that it was a tight fit behind the HU, I ended up having to stuff everything down behind one of the dash supports, eventually it fit. I also bypassed the JBL amp and woofer to remove it and free up all that space where it use to be.

Im sure there are others who are far more knowledgable on the subject who can chime in but I think your best bet to retain the factory system will be the line out converters. You may need to purchase a reverse wiring harness for the Scion HU as well.

With my setup, I decided to keep the JBL amp/10 speakers. It turned out amazing and I absolutely love the sound quality as well as the bluetooth quality.

Yes you do need adapters, especially for the JBL system:
--PT546-00120-CH 28 pin harness-Accessory Harness Adapter- Steering wheel controls, etc.
--PT546-00120-AD (antenna adapter)
--if you want bluetooth PT546-74120-MC
--USB- PT546-00120-US (USB connection if you want that option)

Then if you have a JBL system, you also need:
Metra TYTO-01- Converts the analog output of the head unit to the digital signals the Synthesis amp is looking for.
71-1761- Reverse Wiring Harness- Allows you to plug the converter into the Scion head unit without hacking up any vehicle wiring.

Thanks dude! so you arent having any issues with the Metra adapter? seems like a ton of dudes have? or did they just not set it up correctly (turn volume up completely before removal? i thought i read of issues of it fading in and out?

I had problems, it was a hunk of crap. And yes, I did the volume trick multiple times.
