noob just bought an 87 4Runner

Howdy, all,

Just purchased an '87 4Runner, 4cyl, 4x4, has a very substantial lift, 6 or 7" worth, though I don't know any of the details or specs, runnin 33" BFG Mud Terrains. Has smitty bumpers for that extra redneck flair. 260,000 miles, runs like a champ, loud as all hell. I know little about vehicle repair but definitely plan on doing some of the work on my own, so I may be consulting for technical bits and advice.

Nice looking truck.
Either that surf board is extremely heavy or the truck has your typical butt sag.

Yeah, what's up with that? Like I said, I have no details on the lift whatsoever, but the previous owner had clearly replaced shocks, and in general knew what he was doing. The spacers are all where they're supposed to be in the back- do a lot of these trucks sag in the back?

Yeah, it's pretty normal on an older truck. The springs just wear and loose their arch.
The proper fix is new springs.
