Noob lift question

Stick figure, Did you experince any sag when loaded with the 99 ciols all around? and i assume you have to get 99 shocks aslo with the taller coils?

The 99 rears had sag almost as soon as I loaded any weight in the back. Like I said I carry roughly 100lbs of tools/recovery gear on average, and that was enough to sag the back just under level for me. Towing, or transporting heavier things like tool boxes, my little 4x6 band saw, lathe etc, carrying that stuff was the biggest reason I wasn't worried about having some rake unloaded.

As far as the shocks, same part number for any factory replacement style shock from 96-02 (at least as far as I have ever seen).

As far as the ride .. 100% unloaded was a little stiff, but nothing you couldn't deal with. Since changing to the new tires (e rated 10ply) the ride is on the firm side for sure... still not unbearable, but getting close.

I'm running the 883 springs in the front and 891 springs in the back. My ride is pretty stiff but corning is fine, its an improvement from my broken suspension I had... I can't really tell you how much different it is from stock since my suspension was messed up from the beginning. I run about 150 lbs in the back between my tool boxes, sub, and amps all the time and I have no rear sag.

About the spending too much money on a new suspension I had to argue with my parents about lifting it as well. If you go on advance auto's web site and add moog springs (front and rear) and the monroe gas shocks (all 4) the total comes to about $620. The ome lift is $699, only $80 more. I've always thought monroe shocks were junky anyway...

What do you guys think about stock springs in the frint with 5100s, and OMEs in the back with some sort of shock? thanks for all the help!

benedict are you running a diff drop or longer track bar/ drop bracket?

Stick figure i like the set up you have now with the spacer, I could only deal with minimal rake. What rear shock are you running with the OMEs?

still have the normal bilstien stock style replacements, but a shock change is probably next for my suspension upgrades ... 5100 in the front to get just a little more height.

I didnt get the diff drop since i didn't get the top plate spacers. It sits pretty level without them and my cv angles are not bad at all

I think it handles fine, well for an suv anyway couldn't drive it like a sports car before the lift either. I guess I'm used to it my last ride was lifted too. here is how mine sits with the 3" ome lift and about 150lbs in the back, compared to my blazer with a 2" lift (the front tire is a 31 the others are 235's)

yea from the top of the tire to the fender for all four wheels is about 8.5" space with 265/70r16's. I'd say its pretty darn close to being level. I just need to get some bigger tires to make that 8.5" gap go away :wink2:
