noob needs question answered gas cap?

Soo....I managed to lose my gas cap. Wait lets go with someone stole it. Even though you have to be in the truck to get to the latch for the fuel door. Lol

Bt anyways my question is where to get one? And if I should put a rag or something over the filler neck til I get one? Never had a car where it wasnt attached to the car so this is all new to me. Thanks for your time guys.
