Nowhere close to be able to run any part of the Rubicon. I'm buying some armor currently, found a fabricator to work with me on my tank skid, as I think that needs a good angle.

You can do it in an open field. Dont do it at home. You want open space for the signal to propagate away and you dont want it to bounce back towards your antenna. Just buy a swr or vswr meter.

The only problem is I don't know an area that has enough of an open field around here. haha

Where are you at? An open parking lot with no building withing 100m might work as well (i.e. costco parking lot).

I'm close to Sac State.
Granite Park off Power Inn just south of Folsom blvd has some open space near Sac State.

Get off on Jefferson in West Sac and head South about 6 - 7 miles. You come up on top of the levee with nothing around for miles.

Was under the impression that you want to be away from anything including trees and just be on flat ground. I'll check out the spot since it's not even that far, but might just end up going to West sac. Thanks though!

Trees don't interfer with swr signals, just large buildings, metal structures.
Hills tend to block signals though when in use.

You're quite welcome. It's the only open space near Sac State I know of. You can also head east out Jackson Highway and eventually find some wide open space before too long. BTW, is this for CB or HAM?
