Prairie city is quite fun, but it'll only last a good hour or two with only a handful of obstacles. However, there's a back road near Prairie city that takes about 15 minutes to get to which has some nice spots too. Is it worth the 15minutes? Eh... Kinda debatable.. But I personally like that spot more than Prairie city. The pic I posted is actually at the spot.
 
I’m down as long as it’s within 2 hour drive! My weekends are going to get busy with packing so the sooner the better! I’ve never been to either places but I’m always down to explore. MET anyone??

Huhhh???? Haven't heard of this road...but am very curious....do share the details please!

Heard about it from the Subaru kids when I first moved up here. It's south of Prairie City, here: 38.518893, -121.101334. This is the start of the road. Just follow it east.

Just be careful. From what i've been told, apparently the farther east you go, you're likely to run into some old crazed man who's trigger happy with a shotgun, and a few crackheads...

That or we could cruise around folsom lake? I know dotons point in granite bay you can drive down to the water and around the trails. I haven’t been since last summer though so idk how high the water is

How far east have you gone? A quick look on Google Maps makes it look like one could go through to Latrobe (in El Dorado Hills) - although directions function doest route that way (maybe b/c its a dirt road??)

One of my buddies knows of the road. He says it’s pretty cool! Although he said that there is a big dip that turns into a huge puddle when it rains.. we’re expecting to get rain this weekend.. who’s down to go?? I’m only 30 mins away!

No worries. I've only gone to where Latrobe Road meets Michigan Bar Road. AFAIK, it does route all the way to Latrobe through S Shingle Road.

Yea, there are 2 big dips that I know of, that turn into rivers. When I went this past sunday, they were pretty deep(about 1.5feet). But it might've dried out a bit...

Possibly down still!

I’ve been up to MET twice this winter. The gate is closed at 88 at the end you can still go up from sly park road. it’s supposed to rain all weekend. 100% chance in pollock all day tomorrow. I’m not really one for mud but I’m still down for a little something! Think that dirt road is gonna be washed out?

Judging by the weather reports, it might snow/rain quite a bit.

That dirt road might not really be all that accessible from the Rancho Cordova side, as the main wheeling points are after the rivers from that side. I haven't tried from the Latrobe side or the Michigan Bar Road side, but on Michigan Bar Road, theres a sketchy/old looking bridge that crosses through private property, which intersects that dirt road from the back side....

I haven't gone through that bridge since I don't want to tempt fate. :rofl:

I got a leaky cv boot... no mud for me. Once I get it re greased and clamped I’m down for some mild mud. I’ll dedicate some time this weekend to pack and attempt to re grease my boot
