Anyone interested in a little fun in the mud by running S Shingle Road from Latrobe to Scott Rd this weekend?

It's going to rain on Saturday, so it will clean most of the dirt off the doors. Also, there are 2 water crossing close to the exit if you run it from Latrobe to Scott, helps clean the underside.

Potentially go to PC or a brewery after. I'm thinking around noon would be a good time.

I have a couple obligations Sat. (one in AM and one in mid afternoon)... but would love to sneak this in. Will have to play it by ear ...

Fun run. Half of PC was shut off due to the military running 5 ton trucks through it. The old shingles road was uneventful, lots of rigs out there.

I did lose my plastic bumper cover that held my license plate. I’m assuming it was one of the water crossings

Yes, this one in aluminum is my Christmas buy.. tho prob have to wait till April until I receive it.

I'm pretty booked up til the new year as well. Any spare time I have I've been working on my bumper and would love to get it done finally. Tired of pulling the stock one on and off to mess with it. Gonna be sooo sweet when it's done... Long ways off tho.

Thanks. It's actually a weld-together kit from a dude on here. [MENTION=77310]BrandonF[/MENTION] with Coastal Offroad. He's been really helpful in working out the details, even though I'm probably more picky than most and encroaching upon being a pain in his a$$. Pretty darn nice, just took some time to get everything situated. Welding it was fun, grinding it sucked, fitting it all was frustrating... But it all fits. TIGHT, but fits. Prep, primer, paint, routing cables and it's done... But I digress.

There isn't much clearance as all. Like 1/2" or less at any given point. But since it's all 3/16 steel, I can't see it flexing much. It's heavy as f*ck.

Your going to get flex and your going to need all that .5". Your frame is thinner than it and not structurally built like it.

I bought my rear from 4x4labs myself, DIY also, no instructions included.

That. Frames on these rigs flex a lot. As the frame flexes up the bumper will flex up with it. Since it's wider then the frame the ends of the bumper flex more than the frame does. It's a fulcrum effect. It's not as noticeable in the front and a 1/2" is usually fine there. It is noticeable more in the rear. My Savage dual swing rear has a 1/2" and I have Sonora poly body mounts in the rear. I've still hit both quarter panels under the taillights.

How true, rear moves more and thanks for the design I have, it hasn't contacted, especially with the rear cross member cut out.

Now I have made contact with my front though.

Interesting. I'll have to recheck some areas prior to final. I don't wheel that much, nor that aggressively when I do, but I didn't really think of the body flex. Thanks for the heads up. Hopefully being a 2nd gen with torsion bar front end means less contortion. Certainly doesn't stuff worth a damn. Just raises that side of the whole truck up instead.
