How's everyone holding up?

How are you guys doing down in Socal? heard there were a few mud slides.

The past few days, we been hit hard with the rain and the wind along with the snow..

There were some flooding in my town...

Has anyone been up to Truckee or Tahoe since the snow hit?

Tornadoes in Orange county for the past two days... I'd say the world is ending once you start getting Tornadoes in Southern California.

So far everything is holding up and my 4Runner is handling the rain like its nothing.
 
Yeah, we've been getting our *sses kicked in the Sacramento area. Thought we were going to get blown off the map yesterday - 51mph here? Nuts.

I wish I can go up to Tahoe this weekend...Fresh Powder!!

I'm going up on the 30th & 31st to Northstar...hope it storms before hand. :frog:
 
How was northstar over on New Years K.C?

Sorry I couldn't make it on friday morning, by the time I got back from work it was like 0400 and but the time I went to bed, it was like 0600 already and driving with no sleep is bad...

How are things in the bay area?

I was watching the news and there are over 6 ft of snow in the hills..

Is anyone going down to Socal? This was on the news too, grape vine was shut down due to snow...

I will try to snap some pics tomorrow morning before work..

Best thing about the storm is we're at 100% of average rain fall and there were breaks rather than continuous rainfall minimizing flooding.

Tahoe this weekend will be like Black Friday with $300 laptops. Everyone is going up.

Flooding here and there, and people in cars scared of fording water. The small puddle of a few inches in the Treasure Island tunnel slowed traffic to a crawl eastbound. A section of road in SF and an apartment in Pacifica are in danger of collapsing due to rain, mudslide and errosion.

But outside that... IMO, all is well. It could've been worst.
 
U guys are lucky, I have to work outside in the rain all day and night, well I work right next to the Oakland airport, fedex side since we have our own hub, and since I work at 4pm to 330 am it's been raining all the time, lucky I have some nice rain gear, spent 400 for my Gill jacket and overalls, still the dryest person to go back inside the building after the storm. Also my feet is nice and dry too with the 50 dollar walmart special survior boots, composite toe and my company reimburse me. But u guys are lucky u don't have to work in the rain, last night was bad with the rain at 210 am just came down hard. Well hope u guys have a safe weekend, rainx does wonders to the windows, also it's ok to use 4h if u still have stock dunlops since they suck in wet condition.
 
Seen quite a lot of rain here in Orange County, the Runners taking it like a champ though. I went for a mud run on Wednesday, I didn't even have to wash it, by the time I got home most of the mud was gone :(

I want a pair of these Columbia boots. They would be great if you need to shovel or plow your own driveway in Tahoe.

Snowsports jackets and pants work great in this nasty weather stuff.
 
I'm still waiting for it 24 miles above the Cal/Oregon border. High winds took down trees and pulled off rooftops. Rain/snow expected this weekend. Yes, 4H with stock Dunlops.

sucks that i cant use those at fedex, needs to be composite toe, same as steel toes but we cant have those since people like to steal.
 
Honestly a big disappointment. Why? Needed more snow.

Driving up Thursday was interesting, but couldn't get the 4WD to kick on nor would the VSC to show my passenger how cool the T4R is. Pretty tame, except for people who can't figure out there are sections of TWO lane road on US50.

Friday, everyone came up and the 6+ hour closure on I80 was crazy. People were spinning out everywhere. I heard 30 miles taking 3 hours.

Saturday, everyone decided to go skiing (I ski Heavenly because it's 5 minutes away) and the NV side parking lots were packed.

Word of advice to people who want to ski busy days... Get there EARLY or wait until 11 or 12. Most people do try to get up early, and get tired a few hours later and leave. This leaves the parking spots in the front wide open. Definately an 30-60 before the 1/2 day tickets become valid.

Sunday was good. Few people out, but it did get windy towards the end. Did get to see a lot of people get stuck on a long incline right when the weather started to turn bad at 4P. Powder stashes from Friday were still good but the groomed runs were icing up.

Today we started to get a nice dumping of snow. Tomorrow is going to be a good day. Estimates for the next 24 hrs, 12" of new snow.

Thank you for the update. I saw the traffic mess on Friday night's news. I would've turned around and gone home.

I hope it snows a bit on Saturday, it'll keep some folks away. :D
