Normal driving, Tokico shocks good choice

I use bilstein shocks on my 4runner 4wd right now and it has 130,000 miles on it. I want to change them to Tokico shocks due to bilstein's price.

My car has 230,000 miles on it and I don't go off road at all. Just normal traffic driving.

What do you guys think of Tokico shocks. Is this a fairly good choice?

I thought Bilstein's has a lifetime warranty - but when I checked their site it appears to be very, very limited now (90 days on some and none if OEM supplied!) Tokico is the OEM manf. I'd look at Rancho 5000 series and KYB too - suspect they are a bit stiffer than the stock Tokico so more inline with the Bilsteins.

Change front shocks only?

I checked my Bilstein shocks and the front is soft but the back is still pretty solid. I drive this truck like a car in a normal condition.

Is it OK to just change the front only, then change the back later when its get soft? Thanks,

Changing both on same axel is ok. Front is most critical too since it does 80% of braking so you don't want the nose diving. I've seen the Bilsteins for $80 online (you didn't state year) - so unless others are much cheaper - I'd stick with know quality especially if backs are still fine.

Why not go back to OEM shocks (made by Tokico)?? The aftermarket Tokico shocks have been known (from what i read) to be stiff riding...possibly even more so than Bils. If you want a comfy ride, then i would get either OEM or Monroe Sensatrac. If you want Bils-like ride, then you can try Edelbrock (if they make 'em for 4runner) or KYB.
