Not sure what you would call this?

Not sure what you would call this but its the metal shelf under the radio and its above the temperature controls. As you can see in the photo, the paint is fading off due to me resting my fingers on it to change the stations. I know other members have had the same issue so I wanted to know what people are doing to fix it? I was thinking about plastic dip or even using vinyl wrap to cover it up.

Damn. That's a lot of time spent changing radio stations!

I would start by taping off a straight line under the wear marks and using a sharpie to see if it looks decent enough. I personally would be weary of using plasti dip on an interior piece like that .

Mine is doing the exact same thing. I too was thinking of plastidip or vinyl wrap.

...and plastidip on interior pieces is fine. My console was done by the previous owner and I did a test peel and it comes right off no issues . I'm leaning more towards vinyl , I wanna do it in red but I just don't trust myself in getting it laid down nicely.

I was looking on Amazon, and I found some good prices on 3M vinyl wrap. I may just go that route.

i vinyl wrapped a lot of interior pieces on my build thread.. i spent like 8 bucks for a sheet..

its very easy.. looks good.. and should be more durable than paint..

It pops out you know, pull the useless nin below it, remove pne screw and pull it out. Much easier to do whatever you want with it removed.
