Not what i would have expected

Wow, I've never seen this before on our trucks... I just changed my LBJs and my Tie Rods still had grease in the boots, but the inners were a little worn so I plan to replace them soon.

I don't understand why no one likes my logic of replacing them when they break. Sure they have a lot of miles, but they are very tight and have fresh grease. They feel much better than my old LBJs did. If one separates on the road, I will slam on my brakes and pray. If one breaks on a trail, I will rig it until I can get a new one.

Don't run them till they break... You do realize that if this separates you loose control of that wheel completely right? If that separates and decides to turn in or out there's a good chance it could roll the truck.

New outers are cheap from Toyota too for anyone reading this. Like $50 or less per side from Toyota. Not bad at all for brand new OEM parts.

Yeesh, I would replace any component that has any amount of play outside spec.

I understand the dangers of a TRE breaking. They might not be original though. They have zero play in them. If the steering rack was replaced, I could see a PO replacing them. If my steering rack is original too, it is a wonder because it is in great shape where as most people on here have a blow out before 150-200k miles. There is also no play in my steering at the wheel. When they feel worn out, I will replace them.

Holy Sheeet!!! Looks real to me. That one dude that ended up under the truck had to get hurt really bad.

I don't think it was equiptment failure. Instead I believe the driver
lost his f'ing mind when he saw that shopping cart and overcorrected
his overloaded truck going into the four wheel equivalent of a "tank slapper".
He probably walked it off.
