November 5th Run: Holcomb Creek Trail 3N93

On Saturday Nov. 5th, Danny Cruz and I will be running the Holcomb Creek trail. The rendezvous point will be determined by the direction we run the trail. If we run it east to west we'll meet up at the Fawnskin fire station @9am. If we go west to east we'll meet up at the Running Springs Valero station. This way depends upon whether or not the creek crossing at Crab Flats is open..? Hopefully @GVL can give us an update as to its status closer to the run date. We can also skip 2N06X and take 3N93 thru the rockgarden at 3N16 junction...

sub'd for pics. Sounds like a fun run. I was eyeballing 3n93 and 2n06x last time I was up there. I'd imagine short of snow that 3N16 stays open no?

You should definitely go Danny! Then you'll have pics with your rig in 'em! ��
3N16 usually stays open. There are gates that can be closed if the snow gets too deep. They'll close em sooner if they're having to rescue a bunch of fools early in the season. Best to consult Tim since he's a resident of GVL. :nod:

I'd love to come, and I very well might. Heading to Death Valley on the 21st and that would be a good shakedown run to make sure everything is lubed and functioning correctly before I'm out in the middle of nowhere for a week.

I would love to join you guys but I sold my runner :pout: I needed money to pay for an attorney to fight for custody of my son. Hopefully I can join in spring/summer with the Courier

That's a real bummer, but good luck man! I've had full custody for 1 1/2 years (2 years as of April 2017). If you need any advice or a good lawyer hit me up.

Was looking at the route. Looks like fun. Think a dclb Tacoma will be okay? He's armored all the way around.

Sorry you can't make it Shaun. Too bad about the 4rnr but sometimes u just gotta do what's necessary. God bless u in your battle for custody. Looking forward to seeing you and your boy on the trail with us soon.

Throw me on the weenie list, I won't be forsure til a week before the date. Also, truly very sorry to hear about your custody battle. I almost went through the samething during the summer and actually still may be a very likely scenario for myself. I hope everything works out for you!
 
I would love to go on this run but I am down for now. X-ray shows I do have a kidney stone like I thought. Going in for a cat scan in a few days to get a better view of it.

On top of that I'm on call for Jury duty that week. :cry2:

Just found out son has an appointment that day so won't be able to make it. Plus going out of town this weekend and no time to fix my transfer case leak but that weekend. I'm bummed to have to miss it!!!!
 
According to the FS, 3N16 is closed at Crab Creek thru Nov. 8th due to bridge building. Maybe they'll be done by the 5th and we'll be some of the first to cross... :usa: But as of now it looks like we'll meet up at the Fawnskin Fire Station and run it E2W. Updates on 1st post.

Must've been about 2 months ago. Met a guy near Diamond Bar that had this Runner. Said he just came from buying it.
Hey Paul, I should be in for this. But I'll need to find out where I can park my 4Runner and trailer. Know any spots for that?
