Now I Can Officially Talk 4Runner Smack Here

Picked up my new Trail Premium today, magnetic gray. For those of you in Louisiana, I purchased it from Toyota of New Orleans. Great to deal with, found exactly what I wanted. As you know these are hard to find, I got what I thought was a good deal, great trade in for my F150 and I drove away happy.

They located the TP in the que, it was on the way to the Houston port, grabbed it in cyberspace and now it is in my driveway. This all stated last Friday, one week ago tomorrow.

This is my fourth Toyota, first 4Runner. Got home, surprised my wife, it was supposed to arrive next week, she got behind the wheel drove it, she had a real grin on her face. I told her this is mine, she has to keep her Expedition.

Ordering a deflector shield this weekend, WT liners and NFab running boards to follow.

Thanks for all that answered questions here as I was in the process. I have been looking for this truck for 10 months...I got exactly what I started out looking for. I am happy.

Ok maybe "Smack" is a wrong choice of word, I am too old (56) to use such a cliche...

Bottom line, I have been looking for a long time for this truck. My 4WD trucks in the past have always been of the Ford brand, many Broncos, F150 but I have always owned Toyotas along with the Fords.

I do have and will never get rid of my 77 uncut, 66K miles on the ODO, Bronco. I am in the middle of a frame off on it now.

The 4Runner is my truck for the next 10 to 15 years. Will not be a commuter vehicle, will be my primary driver for other duties. I will not modify the 4Runner too much, as I am not a rock crawler, but do have other hobbies that will take me to places that its capabilities will come in handy.

I am planning to build an off-road trailer for camping...would like to post pictures if some one can tell me the easiest and quickiest way to get pictures from my iPhone to this forum...

Well, I need to get to work....going in early so is can get home this afternoon and read the manual on the truck and the navigation system, a lot of reading to do.

I had a 1996 Bronco Eddie Bauer (last year for the Bronco as you know) and I loved that truck.

Update: ODO has 510 miles in 5 days and not sure where I went? Farthest trip to mom and dads house, 90 miles away...

Truck runs great, avg MPG is at 18.2. The turning radius is great, the ride is smooth and I can sure tell there is a V-6 under the hood, compared to my 5.4 Triton V-8 that I had in the F150. But I did not purchase for speed but for that outstanding Toyota reliability.

I just ordered Weathertech mats all the way around, NFabs are next. The young engineers in my group are all impressed with the truck. They know that I am finally going to shut up about looking for one.
