NTG's Air pressure

Anybody knows the correct air pressure on the nitto terra grapplers 285/60R18"

Nitto USA recommended 26 - 29 PSI. Everybody else 35 - 40 PSI

I's tried them with 26 - 28 and seem fine is just that I used to tires @ 32 - 35?

David from Cornfed told me also 27 PSI. But I just want to triple check because I do not one a tire exploding at 70+ MPH

Forgive my ignorance, but what about the pressures on the door jams recommended by the factory?

nitto's pressures are way too low to run

I suggest getting some white shoe polish and putting some in a few spots on the outside of the shoulder blocks and running that around and see how it goes.

I would think that something like 36 and 38-40 would be good. you are running 20mm wider than stock so you are going to need higher pressures to offset.

Thast's just what I would do. Noway I'll running 26-28 PSI no matter who said!!

The tire pressure warning light will come on around 27 psi. If you run the tires at 26-28, the light will drive you crazy.

If those aren't stock size then the door jamb markings might not be the same. I'd check with the tire place since if they are a lower profile tire the pressure might be different.

Yes they are a different size 285/60R18" but according to the golden rule the door jams dictate the pressure. I checked with one forum member with the same brand & size tires and he ran them with 32 PSI without a problem for a long time and they are wearing evenly!!

I guess the car manufacturer knows best.

I read in the past that typically, it's what the vehicle manufacturer recommends unless the tire manufacturer's maximum pressure printed on the sidewall is lower.

It should give specs on the sidewall of the tire , I would play with in those ranges to see whats comfortable.

I would try 35 psi. However, recently, i have heard that even with big tires, you should keep same psi as what the factory recommends. In my case (G500) with 32" tires (stock was 31"), i agree with using factory psi (32 psi).

Toyota PSI recommendation is what I set it on 32 PSI and feels great. :bigok:
