o/d blinking and real sluggish after a stop

So I just bought a 95 4runner V6 4X4 yesterday. I test drove the truck on two separate occassions and even drove the truck about a hundred miles after buying it with no problems. Last night after gassing up it decided it no longer wanted to accelerate from. A stop like normal, almost as if its trying to drive off in 2nd gear. I noticed shortly after the o/d light was blinking. Once it hits 2nd it runs normal or even if I put it into low from a stop and shift into D it runs normal. The light blinks with a 1.5 second gap in between each blink and seems to stay that way. From what I've ggathered it could be a solenoid, here's hoping that and not the tranny, is that an easy fix or is that something I should leave to the pros? Thanks and any help/advice much appreciated. Sorry I'm a noob.

my understanding is the the solenoid is pretty easy to get to!! i know theirs info on here about it if you do the search!!

im also thinking the code will be stored in the computer and that should tell you which solenoid is the prob if one is

You need to read the Auto trans ECM code, it will give you a better idea what the problem is. Similar to reading the EFI ECM codes.

Took it into Toyota today for an oil change and inspection. They said error code 62 & 63. I found another post on here with a walk through on how to replace and seems basic enough. I figure the cost savings are huge and easy enough.anybody here changed them or should I just pony up and let the pros do it? BTW, I can change the oil but I'd rather have someone with a trained eye point out other problem areas.

if you are comfortable changing your transfilter id say go for it its not too hard !!:beer:

62 and 63 point to a wiring problem on the #1 and #2 shift solenoids.
Check the wiring going to the trans.
