Thanks for the updates. The dealership told me that bank 1 sensor 1 was driver side before the cat. can anyone confirm this? I have an 08 sr5 with the v6,is bank 1 on driver or passenger side? Maybe i changed the wrong one. Thanks for the help.

Does anyone know what side passenger or driver side that bank 1 is on the v6 ?

Bank 1 is passengers side and bank 2 is drivers side.
Bank 1 is passengers side and bank 2 is drivers side.

Once you do it you will realize it is not that bad, the hardest part is the connectors in the back of the engine, I just lay on top of the engine and reach back there and do it by feel.

HELP! I got the driver side downstream replaced. Easy once I got it up on ramps and could get underneath.

I need some serious help on how I can replace the driver side upstream O2 sensor (the one near the engine). It's for a 2004 4Runner V6.

I tried using a harbor freight O2 sensor offset socket (3/8" Offset Oxygen Sensor Wrench) , but I can't get an extension on it because it's hitting the pipe. Not to mention that even getting an extension to stay on it is dam near impossible.

I've tried various flex wrenches etc...I was laying on top of the engine. I was able to get my arm in far enough to easily get the clip off with the help of a small screw driver to help. I lost my daylight so had to connect it back on until tomorrow.

If you recommend tools, if possible include a picture and any info on where I can get it.

I did my o2 sensors about month ago . You need to get a special socket for o2 sensor (22mm i think) otherwise there is a possibility you will wreck the nut. Also Soak couple times using a pub blaster. Also you might need extension for your ratchet handle. O2 sensor you could get from amazon they have good deal on denso sensors .
