Oak Tree vs 4Runner

Survived a falling oak tree encounter but had to be JAWS'd out of the cabin. The Ins. Co. declared it a total so now I'm looking for an '08 Limited to replace it. Bless that truck!

Definitely sucks in one regard, but great that it took the impact well enough to save your life. Enjoy your new vehicle, I'd say you deserve it.

Crap! What's with the oaks and 4runners?! Another member just posted his oak encounter too. Glad you made it out okay! Good luck with your new search.
Oh, and Welcome!

Glad you came through that one ok. It looks like it could have been different. The 4Runner toughness is on diaplay.

Definitely a testament to the integrity of our trucks. Sorry for your loss of a vehicle but glad you walked away fine.

Be careful about pulling anything out of the vehicle. Once the vehicle is totaled it technically belongs to the insurance company or the salvage company that won the bid.

Be careful nobody sees you....

If the salvage yard gets the vehicle with the ENGINE removed.....They may not have seen you..but they sure as heck can come after you for it....

Not that anyone here would do anything like that.

Many years ago I was rear ended and my car was totaled...I had just installed a new radio and speakers....I pulled those out before the salvage company picked up the car....Got a phone call from them asking about the radio...told them the radio had died and I pulled it...and didn't have a chance to install the new one I had just bought.
