Odd Electrical Symptoms leads to no start

So in the past week or so some odd things have been happening with my electrical.

1. Rear wiper would activate just once after start up.
2. HID head lights flash during start up
3. Started the vehicle once, only passenger HID worked. Turned it off and started it again and suddenly both work. (noticed the colors of the HID light seemed to differ from one side to the other)

That lead to the vehicle not starting last night.

What happens when I attempt to start it is:

1. key set to accessory everything powers up nicely and seems powerful, ie all lights are bright and stereo works and all of that.
2. I turn the key and the vehicle makes a clicking noise and the headlights flash but the motor does not turn over.

I'm obviously thinking it has to be the battery/alternator but what do you more experienced guys think?

I'd start with the battery...

Not sure about the headlights and other things, but I've read the wiper is a pretty good sign it's a bad battery.
You could always head to an auto parts store and have them check it for free.

Ironically, mine does it on really cold mornings (5 or below), but that's the only time. Might be time for a new battery for me too..

I'm thinking battery as well. I'll check the date on it tonight, if its 4 or more years old I'll probably just swap it out and hope it fixes the issue. Will save me from paying for a tow truck.

True! The other thing, I believe you have to do some resets after replacing the battery but something you might want to read up on...

yep, sounds like the battery.
its probably still the original.
