How do you have your EQ set in the head unit? Daniel told me they set the equalization assuming "net 0" on treble, bass, and mid range. With the factory 6x9's, I bump the bass up a couple notches and get a good, solid thumb without it being "boomy" or vibrating ... I wonder if I'll have to knock that down with the new 6x9's installed.

So..... I installed My 6x9s tonight . Definitely gonna have to agree with rayofsi on his thoughts. The front definitely opened up more. Yes it seems like hey have their stage more set in the front. Can't put my foot on it, but it's definitely different. Not in a bad way.

How's the overall bass? I'm not expecting a 1000 watt 12" back there but hoping it has some thump. Going to try and install tomorrow
I don't have the 6x9's installed yet, but in its current form, the bass is perfect for me. It has good "punch" but certainly is not going to vibrate the windows ... not that I want it to. HUGE improvement over stock.

Yes. It has plenty of bass. Just installing the 6x9s changed the sound stage more to the front. Im sure that's the way they want it to be. It sounds great

5hr install complete.
Things I had issues with:
- Stumbled with the side doors a bit until I figured out that the window 'squeegee' piece detached from the panel
- Expletive ridden tirade at the firewall grommet when trying to fish the power lead
First impressions:
Sound quality is fantastic
Bass is lacking from the sub a bit, but the 6x9s cover the midbass surprisingly well
Fading the sound a bit to the rear (not much) evens out the sound for me
I'd do it again, knowing what I know now...

Glad I wasn't the only one that had trouble at the firewall. I didn't expect that portion to be hard at all, but it was a pita. I saw the tip on the squeegee part prior to doing the doors so I didn't have to suffer with trust. I feel like I can disassemble the interior blindfolded after doing half of it twice!

Finally installed the Reference 450Q
So finally got around to installing the Reference 450Q in my 2016 TE4. Pretty happy with it. Sounds great and I think its loud enough with not too much bass. My first impression while installing it was seeing how ridiculous crappy and cheap the stock speakers are. What a joke. Seriously? Makes me a little concerned what other components might be that cheap.
My only added tip while running the harness in the back of the glove box would be to use a hinged mirror and flashlight while inserting the fish wire. My first couple attempts the fish wire was not routing correctly at the right corner of the glove box resulting in not being able to pull the harness through. But once I could see where to fish the wire through, it went through easily.
Everything else went smoothly except it was a bit of a pain to reinstall the rear door panels for some reason. It didn't want to clip on correctly on the top edge.
So pretty impressed with the sound quality. I will certainly enjoy my commutes much more now!

Water. I've seen other OEM stuff, Jeep, Dodge etc. I've never seen anything that bad as the 4runner. don't get me wrong, I love this thing.
