oem jbl Nav install

I have see this covered a bit, but the information seemed scattered and incomplete. I have a 2008 v8 limited with the jbl audio in it. I want to install the factory nav (Orange not green). I would also like ALL the stock functionality. From what I have read I think I need the following.

E7008
Mic piece (is it pre-wired or do I need to run them?)
Steering wheel buttons ( really really hope that is prewired)
A rear view camera ( I have heard it is wired but also see. It is not)

For the camera I have seen some that seem to take the place of the rear license plate bulbs and look pretty much oem. I like that idea because it allows me to skip cutting the slot for the camera.

I dont have much info on the install.. But I would do yourself a favor and get aftermarket.

I just installed a pioneer 5600bhs. The touchscreen is very accurate, and the sound is way better even on stock jbl speakers....

The oem nav is dated, and has displays of a gameboy.

U need to get the factory mic and place (install it) near the ceiling map lights. No need to run wires, on your Runner, a plug ALREADY exists in the headliner. When you take your map light/sunroof console out, toward the driver, there is a blue plug. This is where the aforementioned factory mic is plugged into.

You are correct, you will have to run wires from HU to rear camera.

Sounds like a good idea. I got lucky and found an original 4Runner camera on ebay.
