OEM-looking Auxiliary light

1.How hard was it to mount them and adjust them ? I looked at the diagram of the kight's and see they can be mounted to the top or bottom. What exactly did you mount them to ? Are they solid without vibration.

2.Think they would look as good on an 06 with the round factory fogs ?

3.Is the switch wireless or do you have pic's of switches mounted.

1. I had to cut the grille. They fit snugly and exactly, as though they had been custom-sized for the 4Runner. I top mounted them. I used a metal strip to mount them (picture later). They were top mounted, which also makes it impossible for someone to steal them unless they open the hood. They are solid without vibration at all, from being snugly fit with the bumper, and from the metal mount.

2. Yes, I think they would look good with the '06, since you don't get the projection redundancy I have with the '05.

3. It comes with a wired switch, which has two switches and two RED/GREEN LED's, one switch and led for power, and one switch and led for switching.
You have to choose either fog or driving light, not both simultaneously.

One thing that concerns me is that if I do those lights ( which are excellent ) and keep my front plate it will block off all my air flow from lower grill.

That cant be a good thing.

I was looking at mine and began to wonder the same thing. At least I have the option to remove the decorative plate on the front since Arkansas doesn't have front license plates.

How hard was it to cut the grill? Did you have to take the whole grill apart, or did you just cut it on the truck? Usually cutting anything makes me nervous, but those lights look so good they would justify a little surgery!

Cutting was extremely easy, specially because the lights fit with such accuracy that the vertical elements of the grill serve as guides when cutting. I don't think you can take the grill apart, but it was not necessary.

Believe me, there's nobody more nervous about altering any part of a car than me, but they look so OEM, that I was sure it wouldn't be a problem.

Originally, my plan was to put them BEHIND the grille, I tried, but they sure look better where they are now.

About the diesel, I was unbelievably lucky, since I bought it the very last year Toyota offered a Diesel 4Runner. Their Diesel mid-sized SUV is the Fortuner, which is an inferior, narrower vehicle.

I'm spending half on fuel of what I would be spending with a 4 liter V6, and it's powerful enough to cruise at 100mph on highways.

how difficult was the wiring on the install and what did you have to do?

if you're worried about the size of those lights, the p-3000 tri-beam is quite a bit narrower (or shorter, if you're looking at it from the front). they fit in the bumper of my wife's 3G T4R with a minimum of cutting (i think i cut out one section of the lower grill, between the uprights).

you can only have fogs OR projectors on (the third little lamp is a city light), as with the above lights.

they fit w/in one section of the lower grill (i.e., only need to cut out one horizontal bar between adjacent uprights) in her 4G. measured everything, just have to fab up some brackets and run the wiring. waiting to get my bluesea fuse box installed so i can hook up the lights, cb, etc... all through that instead of having a bird's nest of wiring coming off the battery.
